An Oklahoma angler's catch of a 157-pound paddlefish last Friday would have shattered the state record had it been caught on just about any other day. The paddlefish tipped a boat scale at 157 pounds. But state regulations designed to protect the fishery require that all paddlefish caught on Fridays and Mondays must be released. Hamlin, therefore, was not able to have his catch officially weighed or certified by a state biologist, and the state record still stands at 132 pounds, 8 ounces, for a 2018 catch on the Arkansas River. |

In Kansas, aftermarket wheels (or anything else) violate classic car status There has been some fine print in the Kansas regulations regarding vintage vehicles that states that any modifications made to a vehicle more than 35 years old can violate the owner’s right to an antique license plate. “The vast majority of people have no idea, like myself, that technically with my vehicles I am in violation of the law,” Kansas state Rep. Stephen Owens, R-Hesston, recently told NBC television affiliate KSNW. Owens, who according to the Topeka Capital-Journal newspaper, owns a 1927 Ford Model A, added that enforcement of the modification violation “has been stepped up” in the past year. How strict has that enforcement been? People have had their antique tags confiscated for such things as putting aftermarket wheels on their vehicles. One example reported by the television station: The owner of a 1967 Pontiac Firebird was stopped by a highway patrol officer for having the wrong wheels and tires on his car. “You cannot have aftermarket tires and wheels on your vehicle with that classic tag,” the Firebird’s owner was told as he was tickets and his tags were impounded. Rep. Owens is among those supporting House Bill 2528, which was introduced in January and which last week left the Committee on Transportation with a recommendation that it be passed by the full legislature. The new bill would change language in the law to accept a vehicle as antique based on age, not on specific equipment installed since it was purchased. https://journal.classiccars.com/2020...ic-car-status/ |

Cernak, the last single-line Buick dealer in New England, is shutting down “We’re the last of the six,” Ken Cernak said about his family’s decision to close the 80-year-old dealership after the last car is sold this month. The Cernaks — Ken owns the business with his daughter, Jennifer — say the dealership has been a casualty of tighter margins and a reduction in the varieties of new cars available to them. The service department at Cernak Buick closed at the end of January. The Cernaks are now selling off their used car inventory. The new cars were sold to another dealer. the Cernaks said business was also affected when Buick’s product line was cut last year, with the new offerings that the dealership could sell reduced to just the Enclave, Envision, and Encore SUVs. |

What's up with the RS badge in the grill? Is it a Z28 or a base RS?

Burger King is testing out Loaded Cheddar Nuggets, aka chicken nuggets that are filled with melted cheddar cheese inside the nuggets themselves. Fingers crossed that they become available nationwide. |
