"Caroll Shelby paint job, scoops, spoilers, white-letter tires, V-8 motor and four on the floor. Sounds neat, but what you get is a mini-Mark IV all dressed up in performance gear with nothing to make it go. Your mother-in-law deserves more than 105.7 mph. To strangle a 302-cu. in. motor down to a sickly 134 hp is an amazing — but embarrassing — feat of modern technology."

Mind you, that isn't 105.7 trap speed in the 1/4 mile; it is TOP SPEED on a five mile asphalt straight.

I realize you can take any of the choked down anemic smogmobiles from the 70s and create a really cool cruiser with engine swaps. But I just can't warm up to them at all. I am shocked at some of the prices these pigs bring. |
