----I used the same wire for several resto's, but I cut them a bit longer so it was easier for me to direct them thru the hole. Shortened them after partially folding them and then flattened them.....Bill S

I have seen staples put in tabs bent wheel side and engine side. Which is the correct way or is there one?

Hmmm... I know the mudflap and frame seal are correct but there were no remnants of the splash seals to check. I have a 68 which still has portions of the originals in place but it's away in storage.

I have always wanted to know the answer to this question.

Your staples are backwards. Bent tab of the staples should be inside of the wheel well or engine compartment side. I have two original Novas and both have the staple tabs bent over on the inside. The bottom flap is correct.

OK fixed those... upon closer inspection you can actually tell which direction the metal was pierced by the staple. Good to go

Absolutely amazing restoration, but I Gotta say this,
put something over those heads... I was amazed your friend installed the engine without the valve covers, but seeing them still open to airborne dirt and dust is driving me nuts...:eek2:

Yes.. the engine is always covered except when we're working on something or taking photos !! Actually the entire car is also covered when not working on it.
