Wouldn't the wood wheel also have been an option? Maybe not on the PHS but restored that way?

July 1962 Chevy II-based clay model, in a secret studio in a warehouse across the street from GM Design, close in length, width and height to the future Mustang that no-one outside of Ford knew was being developed at that time. XP-781 clay model in Studio "A" warehouse. |

https://i.postimg.cc/N0914jJr/fdf.jpg Henry “Hank” Haga’s Chevrolet #2 Studio design a sleek Chevy II-based sporty coupe concept they called “Super Nova.” Cleanly sculpted with minimal decorative chrome, it sported a short deck and low profile, a (Mustang-like) long hood, and a sloping rear roof. Mitchell liked it so much that he developed a fiberglass-bodied running car and sent it to the April 4, 1964 New York Auto Show. Its presence there—in apparent production-ready form, two weeks before the Mustang’s scheduled April 17 unveiling at the New York World’s Fair—likely made Ford folks very nervous. |

Earlier in October, Italian designer Antonio Vietri debuted the world's most expensive shoe - the "Moon Star Shoes," valued at about $19.9 million, reported Sophie Prideaux for The National, an English-language UAE news site. They were showcased on a yacht in Dubai, no less, as part of MIDE (Made in Italy, Designed in Emirates) Fashion Week. Consisting of a solid gold heel, 30 carats of diamonds, and a bit of an Argentinian meteorite circa 1576, the shoes may be record-breaking, Prideaux wrote. |

The 372-million-year-old fossils of tetrapod -- creatures that evolved from fish living in water to creatures that walked on land -- have been discovered by researchers in Russia. And given how well they were preserved, we can tell this was one weird-looking creature. Had humans been around at the time, they might have seen large, oval-shaped eyes hovering just above the water line looking back at them. This tetrapod, dubbed Parmastega aelidae, looked similar to a crocodile, except its protruding eyes were on top of its head. Its nose and jaws, concealing a combination of sharp fangs on the upper jaw and needle-like teeth on the bottom jaw, would have been below the surface of the water, the researchers said. And the way they curved together looked a bit like a menacing grin. |

The Chicago River is the only river in the world that flows backwards. Due to sanitation reasons, engineers used a reversal technique to divert sewage away from Lake Michigan’s water supply. |

The biggest mammals that escaped the global die-off weighed no more than a pound. But just 100,000 years later, the largest species among their descendants were about 13 pounds, as heavy as a modern raccoon. And another 200,000 years later, “the largest mammals had again tripled in weight, to about 45 pounds,” Lyson says. That’s about as heavy as an American beaver, and much heavier than any pre-extinction mammals. |
