Found this the other day. Nice young lady owns it. She's had it for about 18 years. I almost had a coronary when she opened the garage but it turns out it is a base model Citrus Green, 350 2 bbl, auto with a/c, 1970 Camaro she painted up to look like a Z28 back when she was in high school. Hood hinge was broken so no engine photos. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../P3210002a.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...8/P3210005.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...8/P3210004.jpg [/quote I would still love to have it, would she sell? |

who in the hell is that stupid to sell/give those to the scrap yard? And why CRUSH them when you can make 3X more than scrap parting it out?

Italian supercars can also end up in junkyards. Here is a Iso Rivolta Lele sitting without engine and transmission. The were powered by either a Chevy SB or a 351 Cleveland depending on when the car was built. Can anyone see what year this one was built ?

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
This thread always rocks!.
Cool Iso Anders...looks like a Ford motor mount left behind?. Here's a link to a Chevy powered one... http://www.californiaclassix.com/arc...Lele_c107.html If the link one is a '72 and the '75 Mustang looking tail lamps original, your boneyard one looks earlier?. Reminds me some of the '72 Jensen Interceptor coupe I draged home 20 plus years ago.. Still in the barn as rusty as it was then but was complete w/ original 440 and cheap!. Too bad for the '61 Poncho and Chevy in the Nasblu's pics!. Andy's pics are always a shame...even the little Fords this time!. Cool slots on the '73 Cougar!. The Nova although thick in the flanks looks like it may be worth saving...at least for parts!. Are those Buick rims w/ the spinners added...and 442 exhaust tips?. And Dog's pics great as always!. Great shoebox and '40 Ford parts, '57 Nomad and others...why do those fins added to the '53-55 'Vette look familiar?. Nice to know these places still exist!. ~ Pete https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ouguysrock.gif |

Sure - Auction Happy hunting Verne! [/ QUOTE ] Just an update. I went up there yesterday for the preview. The 2 most interesting cars were the armored car and the custom Lincoln. The armored car was still very solid and complete. BIG engine and little tiny seats. I can't imagine what it must have been like to drive that beast. The Lincoln was in terrible shape but it certainly was a very complate custom job when it was done. It's got THREE '57 T-bird hood scoops on it. The interior looks like they used the back seat for the one & only drivers seat and had a huge extension from the dashboard in front of the driver. Headlights went all the way across the grille. Someone put a ton of work into that car! Most of the cars were too far gone (IMO) for restoration. I saw a pair of old pie crust recap slicks on Chevy wheels in the back of one the vans. I didn't bring my "credentials", so sorry, no more pics. I was able to document the '62 conv and '63 SS conv. The '62 was a nice addition to the data because it was body #32 and VIN#133 from Baltimore (first day of production)! I think Dog may be going up there today so he might have some more pics later. Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I drive by these two cars every day, a couple of days ago this sign went up:
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...d/HPIM2203.jpg I did not have time to talk to the owners but here is a picture. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...d/HPIM2206.jpg The 66 is a four door with a 283 if I remember from a yard sale they had a year or two back. I think the other car is a 50's Buick. The plate stickers expired 15-20 years ago. |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Here's is a numbers matching '69 Z/28 that I purchased locally about 4-5 years ago. It affectionately was titled...

Sure - Auction Happy hunting Verne! [/ QUOTE ] [b] Let me say this about these cars - WHAT A SHAME! There were some great cars here, a yard full, that could have been worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. They have sat outside so long I don't think the entire auction generated more then $60k. That is including the '29 Cad armored car that brought $19.5k. The auction started at nine, but they auctioned off yard tools lawn mowers and other crap until after twelve. I went to get something to eat and missed the first dozen cars - so I don't know what the '62 & '63 Chevy's went for. I was told only about $500 ea. That is pretty representative of the rest of the day. I have to agree with Verne - that '59 Lincoln was something else. It was like a train wreck, I had to keep going back and taking more pictures! The amount of work someone put in this is unreal. In the end it wound up selling for $300! - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk025.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk026.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk028.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk029.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk117.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk030.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk031.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk105.jpg - |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
[b] Those slicks caught my eye also, I thought they would make some fine garage art -
but they went for $230. Much more then I was willing to pay! - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Junk191a.jpg - |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
[b] This big block '55 Nomad went for $700.
It had an inspection sticker from '75 and a tree growing off each front fender! - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk045.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk046.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk047.jpg - - This was a fine car at one time - check out the pin striping under the hood. Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
What did the Vette sell for?
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
[b] This '54 Vette - no title / no vin tag was the second highest seller at $6300.
- - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk015.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk016.jpg - - The buyers came all the way from Indiana - with a trailer with no ramps. I thought they would crack the body in half trying to get it loaded. Some people tried to help by picking up the back - but the body just came right up off the frame. After an hour it was finally on with no noticeable damage. - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk192.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk193.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk194.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk196.jpg - |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
[b] This '56 went for $4400. It must be me, but I don't get it. This car was in such sad shape, pulling it out
of the mud could break it into pieces! Another example of a car that probably was real nice when it was parked. - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk017.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk023.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk115.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...os/Junk119.jpg - |

[b] One of my favorites was this '60 Sedan Delivery. It was an old race car - still wearing cheater slicks

|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
[b] The '31 coupe was bid to about $1800, then went to 2 bidders who bounced it up to $3100. There was
a lot there, but I don't know how solid it was as it was sitting in a swamp.
