The look on these guys faces is like "this here's a tasty silver solid lifter Z28 with Cragars and newer sport mirrors. We are the coolest dudes in town - can't be denied!"

Salvatore, from Soudertown, Pa. It’s his ‘69. Most know him as Sam. You know, a goodfellow!

It's not the smoothest, but I'm young and therefore pay it no mind!

Don’t use them. Kept biting my tongue going over rumble strips in the concrete. Machined shock extensions up top give me the clearance. (Barely)

Went for a drive tonight and managed to get some decent photos at an old abandoned service station on the reserve. Didn’t know what thread to share them on...

Sorry Tim. Can't tell you how much I love this car. I've been toying with the idea of putting the original engine back in but every time I drive it and that cam comes in around 4500-5000 I forget all about stock.

So if "cam comes in around 4500-5000", where do you shift it? how does it run down low?

juliosz 09-15-2020 12:06 AM

It runs about as good as any 427 with a ZL1 cam down low. Things start getting interesting around 4500 and I shift around 6500.

I agree Paul, a car needs to be exciting. The heads had quite a bit of port work.

I'm glad to see the original black plates back with the car...if I remember right, the plates are written on the front page of the protecto-plate.
