My LS5 at Speedway 605 in Irwindale, California on May 15, 1976. The speedway would be closed and bulldozed a year later.

The original owner at the wheel of the LS5, John Lightfoot, bought the car on June 11, 1970 from Leo Hoffman Chevrolet in the city of Industry. John knew what he wanted and Leo Hoffman didn't have it so they called around and found this one at Harry Mann Chevrolet and a dealer swap was arranged. John would keep his beloved Chevelle until his death in 1998. I purchased the car from the estate on January 11, 1999.

Yeah. He finally went back with the rally wheels, and Mom was tired of getting burned on the sidepipes, so here it is back in order except for the custom van murals. :)


This is about 1980 as we finished the father/son 59 restoration in 78 and I'm wearing a Lazar nitrous tee shirt from that era.
