One night, there was a documentary on tires on TV. One thing they were trying to overcome was highway noise. They said while the noise was worse with more aggressive tread, what actually amplified the noise was the air in the tires. This design greatly minimizes that.

The vertical fender stripes (W36) were standard on the W30 but could be deleted. The grille "442" emblem needs to be higher.

That would make sense as the hollow area of the inner tire would act like a resonator.
