Had a heart to heart with my hunny and We agree this is piss or get off the pot time!

Nov 17/18 is fast approaching so I have one local shop looking at my car Wednesday and a local fabricator looking at my car Thursday. Hopefully one is a good fit to do the minor metal work needed so I can get the body back on the frame!!!

Ryan

I chatted with Terry RamblerDealer and Stephen Minore to get ideas and recommendations!! Thanks guys!!

So the last couple days have been fruitful.

Two shop owners have been in to estimate work on my car. Both I feel very confident could do the work.

First shop does all restoration work, so they could do the metal work and paint the bottom of the car as well as lower the body onto the frame to make a roller. Good rate, Good credentials.

Second shop does metal work only, good shop rate, Good credentials.

I gave a ridiculously detailed scope of work document to the first shop and I am awaiting an estimate.

The second shop gave an estimate on site which jived with what I have in my head.

I need to get the body back on the frame to progress!

I really enjoy this whole process and I am learning about cars, and about myself.

Mascar Classics: Update Jan 23, 2018
As most of the people reading my thread know Scott Tedro (Mascar Classics) offered to support/help me complete my build. Originally the offer was to build a fire breathing W31 engine, but this has changed to a financial helping hand. Lots of discussions and back and forth have occurred behind the scenes and this was best for both of us (especially meJ)
I want to offer my thanks to Scott and the group at Mascar Classics, this will help me complete my project. As we all know each little item costs three times more than predicted and takes as long as you let it take.
My plan has been and still is to receive this gift well, appreciate it, be thankful for it, and make good use of it.
Thank You Scott.
Sincerely Ryan Weaver.

This is awesome...and Scott and the MASCAR guys are :cool2::biggthumpup: folks!

Tomorrow is my three year W31 anniversary.

My hunny and I were out for dinner and we remembered being out for dinner in 2015 and getting a call from the Stager’s...... I thought the deal was off. Al was only concerned about transporting the Service Block in the trunk.

Whew!!!

Ryan
