Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Found this the other day. Nice young lady owns it. She's had it for about 18 years. I almost had a coronary when she opened the garage but it turns out it is a base model Citrus Green, 350 2 bbl, auto with a/c, 1970 Camaro she painted up to look like a Z28 back when she was in high school. Hood hinge was broken so no engine photos.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
[b] Here is an unusual rotting musclecar! It belongs to a friend and has been sitting for years. The last
time I drove it had to be at least 5 years ago - I don't know if its been driven since. We are going to get it running and clean it up a bit so it can be enjoyed. Its funky under the hood but the body and paint are good and should shine up very well. The 289 sports a set of 351 heads, GT 40 cam and a double pumper. (The original heads are bagged and stored at the front of the car next to the top) It has the Hillabrand magnesium knock offs which are pretty cool. Oh YES - its a real '64 Cobra, long missing CSX 2133 originally consigned to FOMOCO's Ray Geddes and used as a test car to evaluate the new rack & pinion steering. It also was a magazine car in Nov of '63. - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...ofCobra001.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra030.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra013.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra020.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra025.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra028.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra006.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra007.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra027.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra003.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra018.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra002.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra036.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Cobra010.jpg - |

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
We were house hunting today and found these 5 minutes from our house.
two of them I had seen driving in the past couple of years. for fear of being shot at I did not snoop around to much , I may go back tomorrow. there is still a lot of snow so getting to them was not bad until you sunk knee deep in it. these were taken with my phone so sorry of they are not the best. This one had been sitting a a driveway for a good ten years about 1 minute down this road we were on. I do not no the year . is it a Road Runner , GTX or satilite. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/SSPX0083.jpg this one I had not seen before . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...d/SSPX0084.jpg The challenger behind it was known around here as the Vanishing point car , sorry no photo. it had been driven until a year or so ago. summer and winter. This charger was driven until last summer. it has the arrow nose as well it to has beeen around for about 10 years. driven year round. last summer it was running aluminum slots , large on the rear about 10 inches and maybe 8's on the fronts. my guess is it is not the real deal from my limited knowledge . but I thought the rear windows where similar to the Superbird. but the first time we saw it drive by we filpped . Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
The Challenger is still wearing Polyglas GT tires. For the Superbirds and Daytona cars, they had a flush back window.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Whttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gifW as usual on this thread!.
The Runner/GTX looks like a 72 Satellite w/ a 73/74 Runner hood?. W/ quad lamps the Cuda a '71 but w/ later fenders?. The Daytona missing the flush backglass so a Charger w/ updates...funny but it appears to have the correct A-pillar deflectors on it?. Many clones use Vega hatch glass for these which are very close to the originals.. Can't see much of the Challenger.. That '69 T/A is something...are these recent pics?. The Goats always cool...I like the Post car best!. And your friends Cobra Dog https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif!!!. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif ~ Pete https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
wow on the TA. sad to see it sinking back into the earth. no Petty blue Daytonas built (as that appears to be the color). however, definately would be a head turner.

[/ QUOTE ] As for that Charger , did anyone make the wing and the nose in the aftermarket, my guess is no. ? I am going to try and find the owner to see if they will sell it. I am sure there has been some interest in the car for parts in the past. I figure it can not hurt to look into it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif |

I believe his name is Ted Janek. There is another guy making parts also, not sure of his name or location though. |

Thanks Glenn. I probably won't be buying anything, but I'd like to document the early cars.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I'm a big cadillac guy, just helped a buddy of mine locate a 1972 Caribou (factory cadillac el camino), that armored car is kick ass. It was listed on Ebay with a buy it now of $100K, I emailed and asked for history, none was given. That thing looks unbelievably sound for sitting in a field for umpteen years, I'd love to have it. I'd like to see what it goes for and I'd love to see somebody save it. Flower car is cool to but it looks pretty gone. Also dig that panel van, looks pretty solid.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
The Lincoln looks like something made for a movie. Maybe some superhero car?, i would'nt mind that camino
