A survey of 1,069 U.S. homeowners found that those who had bought a home that was move-in ready spent an average of $250,000.

Those who bought a “fixer upper” spent an average of about $50,000 less. But then they typically spent that amount, or more, on the renovations, the survey found.

I have seen these 2 Bar spinner caps on a few Pontiacs with 8 Lug Wheels. Was this a Pontiac RPO? Or was it a 3rd party option like J.C. Whitney? Or are they something new?

They were an aftermarket thing that Mr Wangers was quite fond of.

Dad was pretty pleased that he managed to fend them off on our Wangers prepped '63.

Want stripes on your new 2020 Shelby GT 500? You have two choices: first is the factory optioned vinyl stripes for $1000. The second option is for the factory to ship your car to Penske who paints the stripes on the car. That option will cost you $10,000

1966 R code 427 Fairlane 500. One of 57 that Ford made for it's assault on NHRA & IHRA Super Stock. The original "lift off hood" muscle car. Bench seat, no radio. But they had a heater and defroster. And, most puzzling of all; front disc brakes which weigh more than drum brakes. First use of FDB in a Ford intermediate sized car.

Base price is $ $2,378.40 for the Fairlane 500 and the 427 was a whopping $1,725.20 for the “427-8V CID Engine Race Car Pkg.” This is not the same 427 that Ford used in the 1964 Thunderbolts. It only has a 10.5:1 CR and is a medium riser, not a high riser. The car is actually streetable.

Not sure why they didn’t just fix the current vinyl stripes! As I researched my GT350R I heard more and more about the vinyl stripes lifting after awhile. So I submit option #3. Cover the vinyl stripes with clear protective film - which corrects this problem and is what I have done. Come on FoMoCo!!! :hmmm::bs::rolleyes2:

P.S. pretty sure you could find a nice local paint shop to paint your stripes on for less than $10K!

Former president Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, are reportedly in escrow for a $14.85 million mansion on Martha’s Vineyard.

And not just any mansion — the one belonging to Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck, which the Obamas rented out for their island vacation this August.

Grousbeck has been looking to unload his home for quite a while: It’s been on the market for four years.

One of the unique cars in The Brothers Collection. The 427 was available from 1963 to 1967 in two forms: R code dual quad and W code single 4BBL. But . . . in 1965 there were no W code 427s, only R code (320 of them). 1965 was also the year that the Corning Pyrex Glass headlight covers were standard equipment with the 427 (OTC option on all others).

The 1963 Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe was the first car to receive the HiPo 289. This was not a cheap option: $424.80, or almost 19% of the base price of the car. This was the ONLY 289 available. It would remain an option through the 1965 model year.
