Filming the TV show Route 66

Does anyone know the history of where this car ended up?

My local repair shop owner friend has a customer who owns a well used but still driven 62 that is now black but shows fawn beige/tan underneath with evidence of a luggage rack and camera mounting points in the car. He always wondered if it was the Rte. 66 car.

The show was never filmed on sound stages - all location shoots. As soon as a car reached 3000 miles, the car was returned to Chevrolet who provided another brand new Corvette. They went through 3 or 4 cars a season. So the customer may have one of the cars used in the show. Like most OEM cars used for movie or TV shows, they would be sold to a local dealer who would sell them as untitled slightly used cars. Very rare if the petigree was made known to the customer. That would either be up to the OEM or the dealer to reveal it's prior use.

Fawn/Beige was chosen because the show was filmed in Black & White and that color combo proved to be the best as far as light absorbtion and non-reflection.
