No, missed that - I made the auction in AC, but forgot about the swap meet. Any shots of anything worth while?
That delivery would make a nice project - but probably to easy of a rebuild for you!

Early car, X6 chalk behind the seat. Pretty sure it's an L78/4spd car:

Stupid question from a newbie who is loving this thread: Stupid question: what is "X6 chalk behind the seat" supposed to substantiate?

The chalk mark was applied to denote the trim package for that body and was abbreviated in relation to the X codes on the tags. This was done on early cars before the trim tags were coded. Obviously, "X6" refers to X66 = 396 SS car.

Would this also apply to 1968 Camaros built in the Norwood plant?

I've never heard of the chalk mark on anything but the 1969s.

the X codes on the rear bulkhead were on later Xcoded TT cars as well... not just on early cars.

The car is actually Britsh Green originally: someone really liked red as it was done 2 times in that color.

Factory L78/M22 (numbers match M22 in car..), disc brake, etc...

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS

A buddy of mine told me that a guy he worked with's neighbor had a Chevelle in his back yard and was interested in selling it. I went over to take a look and bought it on the spot. It took longer to get it out of the gentleman's yard than it did to load it on the trailer. The juy was a junk collector and crap was all over the yard that we had to move out of the way, including getting it out of where it was sitting.

I need to get more pics up and set my camera to shoot color shots. Here is whats left of a 1969 Hugger orange, black vinyl top, black deluxe interior, 4spd SS that was bought new at Bill Book Chevy Altoona, PA. The guy that bought it new lives in my hometown and traded a 1966 Aztec Bronze L78 chevelle on this in Late 68. Of course the L78 was knocking when he traded it in. Hard to see on quarter windows but vintage class winner decals from Keystone Raceway park.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS

Not exactly rotting, but I was in Paris last week and saw an Amphicar stowed away on one of the boats moored on the Seine. I took a photo of it, but it is a pretty high res photo. If someone wants to assist, send me a PM and I'll send you the file for reduction/posting.

I thought this was very unexpected and pretty cool. It was under cover, but I recognized it right away and took the photo.

I also asked around but could not find any good 'ole American steel in Paris. I was also in India on this trip, and did hear of a first gen Camaro outside of Mumbai (Bombay) India with a stripe though. Hmmm....wonder what it is and how it EVER got there! Probably nothing, but makes one wonder.

Didn't see much American muscle in Iraq and Kuwait over the past 15 months. Did see pictures a buddy took of a blown BBC that was used as a starter motor for a pumping station.
