Detective Matt has tracked down a couple more friends of the late original owner Rick Barrett in hopes to more info and possible photos of the gold hot rod. :3gears:

Cool Story about Rick Barratt's "Motivation" Yenko for you blue oval fans out there. I was talking to a old drag racer this past week and he mentioned that while he didn't know Rick Barratt personally he did in fact meet Rick at an machine shop in Greenwood Indiana back in 1970. This gentlemen stopped at this machine shop to pick a block that he had some work done on in the weeks prior. He had met Rick Barratt and his saw his Super Stock gold Camaro back in 1970. The Camaro was sitting in the shop with its hood sitting on the roof and while it sat there this gentlemen met another guy buy the name of Bob Glidden. Bob was finishing up setting the valves on the 427 Chevy in Rick Barratts Camaro. It wasn't till years later he went on to realize it was Hall of fame NHRA Pro Stock driver Bob Glidden. Bob was just a local drag racer from that area at that time. He said after they set the valves and pulled the hood off the roof of the car that Rick and Bob proceeded to, in his words, "Put the boots to it" up and down the road several times in front of the machine shop.

The 2nd Owner provided us with one of his Class Winner Trophies from Muncie Dragway 1972 and the original picture from that night. He also gave us a 50 years of Muncie Dragway book.

That is awesome!

Matt you get all the credit from these photos and these owners and all of the intangibles thank you so much for being a huge part of this car ..it only came alive with your passion for finding these folks and their memories as well as their treasures.

This needs to be updated with pictures of the finished car. I heard that it was at MCACN, but I didn't get to go this time, so I missed it.
