Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
Good grief that's sweet! I can't compete with that! Bring that next year Jim! And by the way, I stumbled across an NOS box of fender tag hangers specifically used at Lynch Road. I'll cut you a deal if you need one! Very limited supply on hand! Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
Can I have two? :^)
Dave - Your car will be every bit as nice....probably nicer as mine was only a partial resto of a good original car. It was at the reunion (Carlisle)a few years back. And a Merry Christmas to you as well! Cheers Jim |

Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
Ooooo! Parts parts parts!!! What's in the box?! Boxes! Parts! Oooooooooo!
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...229_071609.jpg Of all the parts on the Bee that I've redone myself, there are always a few that are best left for the people that specialize in the parts that they specialize in. I for one, know my limitations. And those limitations put limits on my ability to not be limited by my limits. So, what's all that mean? I done sent my wipey motor to Bruce Somer in CA and I was like a kid on Christmas day opening the box! It's hard to tell the excitement in my photo, I know.......here's the before and after: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...011_084944.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...227_074521.jpg What an awesome job! These motors are such a big eyesore on Mopars if they are not done correctly. Time for this to go in the engine bay! Cheers Dave |
Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
Back in it's rightful place in the engine bay! It's one less box on the shelf. Amazingly, the boxes on the shelf are shrinking but they are being filled up with other junk almost instantaneously!
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-dscn2330.jpg Heater hoses installed, correct master cylinder cover plating, his pins chromed. Lots of small stuff coming together. I need to redo the coil with correct green lettering and a few smaller details. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-dscn2329.jpg Now the pain in the butt part.... Yeah, because everything else up to this point has been soooooo easy.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-dscn2348.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dscn2351.jpg The rear half is all trimmed and glued down nice and tight! I always use a tried and true method of measure twice, cut once, order a second carpet https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-dscn2350.jpg Cheers |
Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
Trimming up the front carpet. I should have this all installed next week! uphttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-dscn2344.jpg
I had my steering box upgraded by Steer & Gear to have more of a "sport" versus the original "Lusitania" feel like all old Mopars have Kelly even comments how much "power" there is in the steering and it feels like you're sailing the high seas! Right before I parked the Bee and decided I didn't want a driving car anymore, we went for a cruise and I blurted out "Hard a port, Matey! Yyyaaarrrrrr! Ye' bountiful spoils await! Yyaarrr!" Her reply? "Oh, you mean Sonic is on the left?" And why I sounded like a pirate in that sentence but was referring to a luxury liner that outdated the pirates by 250yrs is beyond me! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-dscn2331.jpg Cheers [more soon! ] |
