Restoration
 

One of the stipulations that John Weaver insisted upon was that the restoration be completed within 24 months....Frank, Matt, Matt and crew worked their magic and finished the car in 17 fun months.

We intend to do something special for the Olympic Gold 69 Yenko to honor the late original owner Rick Barratt who passed away recently on December 5, 2019....god speed to him and condolences to his family. Rick won Indy in 1975 . Troy Shattuck that had owned the car since 1976 will be helpful in the car build.

I have the same photo Joe...kuddos to Rick ...he made it a family affair with him..wife Carol and brother Marty who was also an NHRA official. Rick went on to be a successful businessman. A life lived on his terms.... boy do I really wish I could have met him.

We plan on attending the Concourse D Elegance show in Cincinnati in early June...if you are in the area please stop by and say hello . Great show and benefits a great charity. We are also signed up for 1 of my favorite shows in the Legends class at Frederick Maryland in late June.

Made it to print-July 2020 HOT ROD. I love the car and the journey, was a joy to see it in person at MCACN. Thanks for sharing it with us all.

And I canceled my subscription to Hot Rod. :mad2:

Where can I get some?!!! I've got a pretty good Jonny Lightning collection and I need these!

We saw them on EBay and Wallymart. eBay was less $$

June 18-19 at Lucas Oil Field ( where the Colts play) Indianapolis...the inaugural Bloomington Gold Camaro Certification program will take place and our blue/red 67 Yenko was chosen to be on display as well as go thru the judging process. We are honored to be a small part of this special event.

We enjoyed a fun weekend at the inaugural Bloomington Gold Corvette/Camaro show at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. We were able to enjoy great dinners with friends while meeting new friends as well. The car scored well by earning a Certified Gold Award . The unique color combination and options were well received by the crowd and judges. Thank you to all who stopped by to say hello. A first class event that I recommend to all.

Had a great weekend at the Camaro Nationals in Frederick Maryland...weather was beautiful and the parking lot parties were abundant at the host hotel. Several killer cars at the show...probably the best display to date. I would like to thank Karl Sheffey and the entire Camaro/Family for a great 2021 show. Being able to spend quality time with fellow members is priceless. Our 67 Superman Yenko scored well enough to earn a top honor of Platinum in the Legends Class.....thanks to the original owner John Weaver, Frank Arone, Matt Barczak, Matt Lamer, Dave McGaffee.
