The advantages of reflecting important information onto a driver’s line-of-sight (HUD) was learned from military aviation, where they first appeared as early as the 1940s. The first car version was developed by GM Hughes Electronics and fitted to the limited edition Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible Indy 500 Pace Car, 50 of which were offered to selected customers. |

Aftermarket manufacturers began offering remote engine starters during the mid-1980s. This tech allowed motorists to start their engine by pressing a button on their key fob if they were within a pre-set distance of the car. However, it would be the early 21st century before car makers themselves offered a remote engine starter. One of the first cars available with the feature directly from the factory was the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu (pictured), and was boon for drivers in colder parts as they could warm the car up before entering. |

Pre-production 1969 Super Bee. When N96 was ordered, the engine callout on the front fenders was eliminated. F70x15 Redstreak FGB tires (U65) was an option $90.95. Very few were ordered with them due to the high cost. They were standard with the Hemi. You could order the Deluxe 15" Wheel Covers for $24.50 through the dealership but not via the factory as they were only a factory option on Hemi cars to replace the "Recall" wheels. |

I am sure you have seen photos like this one captured by the Hubble Telescope. What you may not know is that ALL photos are captured in Black & White. When Hubble scientists take photos of space, they use filters to record specific wavelengths of light. Later, they add red, green, or blue to color the exposures taken through those filters. The result is full-color images that have a variety of purposes for scientific analysis. |
