Re: Old Street Scenes
I was wondering about the LCRA building, is that in Austin? Thank you for the photos, I was a kid in the 60's and the pictures of the deco trees is a blast to see. We sure had some bad trees back then. I remember our silver one that rotated.

Yes -first begun in 1949, the elaborate displays were constructed early in December as LCRA’s seasonal gift to the people of their home town. The LCRA displays continued for many years, ending in 1969. |

Check this out! found it online. Its Darin Stevens from Bewitched. One channel had a bewitched marathon on today and it was cool to see the cars change. In the episodes from 69 he had a blue 69 impala, and his parents had a red 69 ragtop. then in the 1970 episodes he had a (i think) misty turquoise ragtop impala, and also was driving a green 69 RS in one episode! Hilarious show. |

Re: Old Street Scenes
In the one picture on page 210, not sure how to single out this picture, there are 2 boys by the Christmas Tree. There is a GI Joe Toy Jeep box in the background. The one boy is kneeling on a car game. The car game is the Chevrolet Road Rally Game from 1967 that Chevy Dealers would give out to customers. The little boy on the right is holding one of the red 67 Camaros that came with the game. The yellow 67 Corvette is on the game board on the ground... The game still has Christmas wrapping paper on the box so you can't see the box markings...
Pretty Cool!! Rich |

Re: Old Street Scenes
Here is a picture of my 1st car I drove. I really enjoy sharing my old toys with. They are 2 and 4. I owe my parents a big thanks for helping me hold on to this stuff for so long. I'm looking forward to digging this out for my son this spring.

I received these on an email this morning so hopefully none of these have been posted here yet other than maybe the B17 one. Check out the 55 Nomad and the 57 Chevy hot rod.
