69 Yenko Chevelle found

Congrats to Rick & Annie on your righteous barn find. As a Newbie to this website, I am amazed at the comraderie of its members. I am a firm believer in Karma and that good things happen to good people. I asked my Dad many years ago how does he finds such good deals on things and he replied that he waits for the good deals to find him, but to be ready to jump on them right away as someone else may beat you to it.There aren't that many Yenko Chevelles left out there and I know it is in good hands. The shape it is in structurally is phenominal. Was the interior color parchment or black, as I may have missed it in reading 20 pages. I have several friends in the Louisville area due to drag racing with my brother in NHRA division 3 Stock class over the years and ate at a place I believe was called Momma's Barbecue, really good food! That Chevelle is definitely a keeper, please do not sell once completed as you both deserve it.

It amazes me the true enthusiasts I meet in this hobby. I have received many calls from the msn.com story and one gentleman from Washington and I talked for some time. He had no ties to me, the car or Yenkos at all but had a pair of V.V. Cooke license plate frames and wanted me to have them even though they were in poor shape and the wrong years. I thought it was awesome and will put them on our wall in our display room and will not be for sale. Thank you Mike V, a true hobbyist and now friend.

Big swap meet in Louisville this weekend. There might be some VV Cooke stuff there.

If you are there I would be interested in anything you might come across. I'm available all weekend via phone. Thanks for the heads up.

Rick, do you know about what year the top frame was used. I have one from Beasley-Cross Chevrolet in Kannapolis NC that looks just like your frame even the red paint.
