The Gilmore Auto Museum also sponsored a car show at this event. This R4 Red 69 Road Runner A12 is a 4 speed car with a console. I do not know who owns this car. It is the first time I have ever seen it.

Ya I think John has been 3.73 in Outlaw 10.5! I met John YRS ago as he was running out of the same shop I was. He was getting back into racing after concentrating on work.

John had/has a 1970 Challenger RT 383 CONVERT car swapped/cloned into a Hemi clone. Ran it with a 727 and gearvendors overdrive and EFI. That car would run mid/high 10's, but look totally stock. Watched him beat a locals A/SA 1970 Hemi Challenger a number of times too with this car.

John also HAS/had as I haven't talked to john in probably 6 yrs, a original paint 1970 Hemi Cuda.

Then he built the 1970 Hemi Cuda racecar with the Steve Schmidt A99 Pro Stock Hemi, with the liberty converter driven 4 speed, I bought off John when he switched the Cuda from Hemi to 737 Chevy.

This was all about 15 years ago and not sure what cars he kept or what he sold.

The following are some pictures I took at the Mecum Auction in Indy. The hammer price is before any commission. This Polo White 57 Corvette is E57S104355. It is 1 of 51 equipped with the RPO heavy-duty suspension and 1 of 43 with the 579E air box which wasn't available until May of '57. I believe all of the air box cars were equipped with 4 speeds as well which wasn't introduced until 4/09/57. This is a previous NCRS Top Flight winner. It was a no sale at $240K.

This Onyx Black 58 Corvette is J58S106191. It is 1 of 1,007 579D 290 horse cars built. This car was awarded an NCRS Top Flight award earlier this year. It was a no sale at $170K. These dark colored cars are hard to take pictures of between the black carpet and the large windows in the buildings that reflect on the cars.
