The difference between a 340 GTS and a 383 GTS engine weight wise was 475 vs 620 pounds. Almost 150 more sitting right over the front wheels.
Interesting tidbit about the GTS. It came standard with the 3 speed TorqueFlite auto trans. If this was the transmission you wanted and you also wanted the 383 4V, you had to order the console as a mandatory option. Not so with the standard 340. Or you could choose the 4 speed manual at no additional charge.
