Re: motion cars in movies and tv shows
Yes it appears to be a T/A..
What year do you think they are?. Not many details in these years especially from the front and when the F'Bird nose is hidden?. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif ~ Pete |
Re: motion cars in movies and tv shows
definetly not a "big Bumper" guy either but I'll guess 74/75 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif

I think the car on right had paint "treatment" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif Not really sure of the time line here, but I'd say these look like brand new "Motion Trans Am's". Do they exist? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |

They look to be 75/6... not 74's

So they are not accounted for? Has anybody ever tried to hunt these cars down or asked Joel about them? [/ QUOTE ] I believe I have the magazine that has an article about that Trans Am...If I remember correctly it was built and then shipped to the Shah of Iran at the time.(this is from memory) I have been so tempted to catch a plane and go look for it...but I dont think Iran is such a great place for Americans to be snooping around these days. Anyone have any connections with the Iranian government...?? |

Re: motion cars in movies and tv shows
That one white and red Camaro is a 75,76 or 77; the rear window appears to wrap all the way around unlike the 74 and older 2nd gens.
I have a soft spot for 2nd gens, esp. the 75 - 77's as that was my first car; a 76 Rally Sport. |
Re: motion cars in movies and tv shows
I have a 77 that started out as a rally sport. it was silver with the black treatment and orange and red orange stripes

And that trick of putting a small pic attached to the first letter of the article was a PHR trick. FUGLY car all the same. |
Re: motion cars in movies and tv shows
i guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. im willing to bet even though its fugly it can still hold its own just like any other MOTION Performance car

I do not miss the early '90s, this is a good reason why. Man what were we thinking style wise? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gifhttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
Neat photos, keep 'em coming! |

Re: motion cars in movies and tv shows
I actually dig some 80's influence, like the widebody stuff. Agreed the Camaro is a little over the top, but the original Audi Quattro is unique, historically significant and cool. When Porsche went from the 924 to the 944 that was a nice improvment. I even have a think for Mitsubishi Starion cars.
Funny how that wild Lambo influenced spoiler is just as relevant today with some of those crazy spoilers which are OE n some cars and all over the aftermarket. |
Re: motion cars in movies and tv shows
Cool pictures! Haven't seen any from this vintage before. Thanks for posting.

The Euro influence on the American car market was evident as day is to night but in terms of bleak styling and modest performance, the 90's were something to forget. Man think about the ZR1... $25,000 over sticker... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif |

Re: motion cars in movies and tv shows
It's been awhile since I saw the movie "Walking Tall-Part 2"-circa 1975 but I remember a scene with a blue 70-73 Camaro that if I remember correctly had the Motion paint scheme in white. In the movie the scene shows Sheriff Buford destroying a race car driver's blue Camaro at the livestock market. He rips off the door etc. In hindsight I hope its not because it gets wrecked. But this is from memory. Anyone have a copy of the movie???
