Take a look at this video and if this doesn't get your race car juices flowing nothing will.

I was just questioning the market price really not your perctiular car to get a feel of what they are bringing ,Iam looking at a all #s matching 69 396/375 car that has docs and also real low mile car .I thought the $$ was a bit high but maybe its very reasonable after all... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif I agree with your statement about the 427 cars but are u saying this is such a car??

Re: Details 1969 396 375hp SS Nova 19,538 miles

Anyone can put a 427 in a car and then say it was an old race car and stuff like that, but those other race cars you talk of are few and far, thats why the bring big money. I would rather have an all original big block survivor then some car with a 427 and some iffy story behind it, but thats just me https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

You know with that amazing story I think the L88 is right at home in the Nova! I would keep it as an L88 Nova with a hell of a tale!!

Price sure seems fair. Car looks fantastic, engine is worth a fair amount of coin on its own merits.

If you are going to swap out the L88 what is it going into?? Got a spare L88 Vette lying around that need an engine?

If I read this correctly, this Nova has an original #'d L88 Vette engine in it now? To the owner of that Vette, I'd say that the Nova is a nice freebie in this deal, as the original engine is worth close to a $50K bump, is it not? It sounds like the buyer has the perfect trading material (dated L78) to trade for the original engine. The car is cool as hell as well. Sounds like a slam dunk if everything goes right.

Thanks guys after getting the car home and really looking it over it really is a very cool car. I bought it to put the engine in my 1967 300 post chevelle. I am really not sure what I want to do with it yet sell the body, put a date coded motor in it or just leave it as is. I already have a few people that would like to buy the body minus drivetrain.
I realize the 19k miles doesnt make it a survivor but having all original perfect sheet metal and interior to me makes it the next best thing.
I want to thank Strat for all his help buying this car without him it would not of happened.

Congrats on the car--- its one thing to snooze---another to be lied to!!!!!! Like (The original motor and trans is sitting 8 doors down from car I will call and find out if You can have the whole package and let you know right away) to the motor is in this car and the trans is in that car--yeah sure sound like a straight foward guy to me...... Re: Details 1969 396 375hp SS Nova 19,538 miles

Like I said this car was and still is a street drag car! It looks like a sleeper but those 427 badges catch your eye. Remember this car also has a 5.13 gear Dana 60 rear end to handle a the brute HP! The picture that -post sedan- posted is one of the original pictures I have of the car in 1971 lettered up saying "Nova II Tuff" on the side with the drivers name and with local sponsors of the car. This was a street drag car(hence the low miles) that the last owner was beginning to bring back to street trim. On my previous posts I said "I think that a race car is more valuable than a regular car " I wish the owner would of left this car in race attire. How kool would that be, a one of a kind Nova. Thats why the car was re-painted to remove all the lettering, but I would like to have kept it that way and tell everyone at the shows about its story and how it ended getting the 427 motor and a Dana 60 rear. Not many cars can give a story like this one can. This car is truly a one of a kind!!! Worth every penny if not more cause of it history and paper work. Mr. Nickey came by today to see the paper work on the car and said "this is one of the best paper work he's seen" Originally sold in Oak Park IL ,owned in Oak Park IL by only 2 owners since 1969 that raced and showed that Nova! Now it's finally left it's crib and in John's garage. The man with knowledge an the cahunas. Wow what a real deal!
I'll try to post some pictures of the car on my next posts.

Now I'll call you a out right LYRE! I never said that to you! I said the motor and trans are local and I don't have access to them. You are such a sour grape! Your are probably so embarrassed that didn't buy this awesome car in your home town and trying to save your reputation of trying to be a buyer. Your actions prove it and your "baby acting" response to all of this shows your a minor league player! Just go back to the dug out and sit on the bench!

Thats why john bought the Nova, he wanted the drive train. The great condition Nova car with premium paper work was a bonus to him.

I and some others know how dishonest you are- if you want to use baseball terms--you remind me of Roger Clemens, (I was not at Jose Canseco party), but as time goes on truth starts to leak out. But being a car fan I would love to see motor pics. The part that bothers me is dishonesty, not the fact that I did not get the car, I have stated all along I am looking for a matching numbers drive line car with doc's, so if you would have done your homework then you would know what I am lookin for. You mislead people from day one with the generic description of the car in the first post to all the garbage you post up till today. I can go to bed at night knowin I am an honest guy. I will find my car someday and am not the least bit sad I did not get yours, just upset another guy in this great hobby misleading people. All the guys I have talked to on this site are 1st class guy--all but one. Every person including YOU that inquired about the Nova,I told them in the first minutes or sentences of any phone conversation that the cars original drive train is not in the car and I have NO ACSESS to it, but know where it is. Motor in Oak Park, trans in Barrington, rear end in my garage. Yes the description is vague but the phone conversations were VERY DETAILED to every one who called. If you are looking for a # matching car, on the phone you knew the car was not right away in first minutes of conversation. So why all your griping?
Who knows, only you know. Maybe to cover your tracks on not being a a real buyer and all your friend are asking you why didn't you buy the car. Enough said, if you feel ok, I think I'll try to post some more picts, but don't come crying now the car was sold and picked up.

In the old vintage picture of the Nova "NOVA II TUFF" The guy in the blue shirt by the Nova is the original owner and the guy in the white shirt by the Impala is the second owner that I bought the Nova from. The second owner is still alive and well has all the history and live across from the alley from the original owner. The Original owner ,his best friend and car buddy has now died and the car was willed to the 2nd owner. I picked up the car from him. So there's no iffy anything about this car, he knows every minute of the cars life, he was one of his original budies that went to Brigance Chevy to pick this Nova up when the special ordered Nova was picked up fo
