Norm, I really hope things improve for you both. I wasn't trying to be disrespectful either sir, i'm just a youngster at 35 but I truly love it here. I am sure they have thier own problems in Canada as we do here. One solution may be to move within the U.S. and see what other states have to offer. I am sure you are absolutely covered up with Politians where you are in PA. Where I am in Alabama, we have casual talks at donut shops with the mayer and senators and our Governor even rides a Harley.. I rode with him and about a 100,000 others on the trail of tears commemoritive ride a few years ago. Different states have different programs and just the cost of living being so much cheaper down here might free up so much fundage, you could buy your own health insurance. How laid back is here... Years ago Dad overpaid his car tags and the courthouse sent the overpayment back to him in the mail ... in cash https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

There is another one of the differences between the 2 societies. We are not a litigious bunch and if if we were the law prevents such lawsuits fro wasting the time of the court.

I was born and raised in Montreal and have been to 84 cities in 16 countries and to me, North America is by far THE BEST place to live, be it Canada or the USA. Each has it quirks, up & down sides but all in all we are extremely lucky to live on this part of the Americas.

All in all do what is best for you and your family and keep in mind that all that seperates Americans & Canadians is an imaginary line as we really are the same in many, many ways.

Re: Whould Canda be any better

Like Kwizz said, Grass seems greener on the other side. We go on vacation. Love where we go. Man I would love to move here if my family would come. Man the price of houses is way cheaper here, man there are NO traffic lites around here to contend with. Wow the price of schools and education is way lower here than where I live. Boy I love the quality of your air it is way better than ours. Boy people are so nice here. How are your taxes so low here and so on and so on! When people come to Pa. they state the same things I do when I visit other states. When people come to America they tell us how great we have it and how much better it is here than in their country. We can mail a letter to go across the US for less than 50 cents, and you know what it does not get opened or read till it gets to its destination. I think if you live and work in one area ALL your life it tends to become a drag no matter what. remember when we go visiting or vacations we only really see the good. We as humans always think the grass is greener. That is our nature. IMO as long as we are free, wake up on this side of the grass and have our families close and be able to go to bed feeling safe we are batting a thousand. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

I do not like a lot of the things going on in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Actually I don't like a lot of things that are going on in the WORLD right now But the USA is my COUNTRY MY HOME and I am going to stay right here and support HER the best I can as an AMERICAN. One person can't do that much but together as AMERICANS we can acomplish a lot! If you or someone else wants to live in another Country I say go where your heart takes you and where you feel you will do best, and what is best for you and your family. Personally that place is AMERICA for me and mine.I do not feel like AMERICA is a sinking ship,we have a few holes and water is coming in but the pumps are working strong and SHE is still afloat! And with the help of AMERICANS standing for what is RIGHT and defending this COUNTRY the HOLES will be patched, The HULL will become stronger than ever and no more water coming in! and the pumps can be turned off! And ALL PEOPLE IN EVERY COUNTRY will see THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA for what SHE really is! A COUNTRY that overcomes adversity and can accomplish anything SHE wants to accomplish! And the GREATEST COUNTRY THERE IS, EVER WAS AND EVER WILL BE!

America was once a great county But the politicians the special interest groups have all but screwed it up big time Now tonight was watching Jim Gamer mad money and he is now talking about a depression come on that will make what happen in 1929 look like a walk in the park. How much will the American people take before it gets way out of hand
That why I asked about Canada I think the next few years here is going be ruff
Just look at the price of Diesel fuel The truckers who drive for a living are getting hammered It seem that every thing in America today is one big rip off and jobs are leaving here to other countries for cheaper labor No one in our government cares for the middle class working stiff
I realy dont think Canada could not be any worse

Don't watch Jim Gamer ..... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif

Listen to Paul Harvey https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif . He starts his Noon broadcast with "Hello Americans"... He ain't talkin to no one else.

Norm, America is still a great Country (not county) and always will be. I wouldn't worry about silly politicians, they like to talk and scare people. Call them up and let them know your going to vote them out of office asap. If you want to listen to a money man, listen to Dave Ramsey.

You're complaining about fuel prices? They're higher here. Special interest groups? Ever hear of Quebec?? Our stronger dollar is actually creating a doom and gloom attitude here. A gallon of chocolate milk costs you $4, and you'll have to cough up another 11% for tax!

Look before you leap. I often wished that I lived in the states.

Age discrimination doesn't sound like a waste of time to me. I'm no law expert but I don't think someone can tell you your too old for a job in an interview. They can ask your age but cannot use that as a reason not to hire. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Whould Canda be any better

In the years following the Bears SuperBowl victory, about 40 of us here from work would always charter a bus and head to Detroit to watch the Bears/Lions matchup annually.
We always left early on that Saturday AM,and drove straight to Windsor. We would check into our rooms, half drunk from the Bus ride of course, got showered up then stumbled back on the Bus that evening headed for Windsor.
I remember Cheetahs' on the River was 1st then I think Club T-zers,then Leopards Lounge after that finish the night with a Happy ending at Silvers Lounge.(no not literally). That was alot to absorb for us 25 yearolds back then.We were so whitebread, sitting among pimps and anything else that made us stand out.All acting like we had brass ones when really didn't,but as long as you paid, you were in.
One of us would always get kicked out for touching the girls..Boy did they take that seriously,no lee way whatsoever.
None of us wanted to leave as the night wore on & we would barely make the kickoff the next afternoon, and by the time the game was over, one of us ALWAYS got in a fight with a Lions fan who hated us as much as we them..
Good times & place...https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
