Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
Has anyone heard how the restoration of the 66 Motion/Mason Bros. Chevelle is coming along? I've been excited to see what its gonna look like
|
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
It is a 67 Chevelle and is still under restoration in VA. I saw it a few months back and it is coming along. Guessing a 2013 completion date. It is one of the most significant BM cars that survives as it is one of one and was a test bed for many of the new speed parts for Motion. It was also one of Joels favorite cars as he raced it on occasion himself on the street and the track. Quite a few articles about the car were published back in the day.

that's an exciting tease, what magazine? |
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
Photos were taken about a week or two ago by a very well known muscle car photograher / writer who provides articles for several magazines, so not sure which one(s) yet. Will probably be a couple of months to hit the stands given magazine lead times.

Yes these videos will show them both racing at the strip in 1968 after returnining from the Winter Nationals ,The Motion Club Car was then painted the Marina Blue Metalflake and our first run in that color was the Dover Drag Strip in Wingdale N.Y. ET times that day Chevelle 11:71, Camaro 10:79 with a street eliminator win,Joseph Mason

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
Hello Joel and Marty, tonight 3/13/13 was probably the most important night I have had in 46 years for my brother Charlie and I sat together to watch videos of both Motion Cars race the first time after the Motion Supercar White 67 Camaro returned from the Winter Nationals in Pamona,California. This camaro was just transformed from white to metal flake marina blue and the clip was from Dover Dragstrip in N.Y. the first outing as the Mason Brothers together ,there were no dry eyes in the room and when the video comes to you you will feel the same, and I hope the editing will be completed this week so it can be sent out and posted, our grown Children are preparing a utube posting for they never saw the Camaro racing and they want your fans to see this video never seen by anyone, see you both soon,Joey Mason

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
Thanks for checking in here and I'm looking forward to seeing the video.
|
Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
Charles,we viewed this video last night and it should be done editing by weekend and I feel the only person to post it is Joel Rosen for he has never seen the Camaro painted and looking like the Chevelle in matching colors and lettering since he drove it in 1968 at the Winter Nationals in Pomoma, what we did not remember was the Camaro was called Proad to Be 11(2) Other still Photos are being enhanced now and i can post them when I get them, the color change to the Camaro came in 1970 when a fender bender to the front fender and the metal flake could not be matched so after three trys Charlie said STRIP THE PAINT JOE so the car was painted black in which I will post that.Remember we were 19 and 20 years old at that time Charles ,Joseph Mason

Re: 1967 Chevelle and 1968 Camaro
It says I'm out of business because I refused the Google listing! I got more work than I can do now..These Motion cars were pretty bad shape to say the least and with a lot of unknowns! The bodywork on underside of the Chevelle has been finished and starting the painting process. The 68 BM is not getting the attention right now and the 69 BM is coming along great. If all goes well without any big surprises the Chevelle should be finished by early 2018.I'm easy to contact if anybody needs to talk with me..Thanks..
