Re: 1970 L78 Nova NOM

The plan was to go to a small block car but that little voice in my head kept saying for a few thousand more you could get this and for a little more you could get that. Stefano worked with me in taking a part in trade towards the car and I was so close price wise, that is what I needed to have enough money to get the car. My wife gets paid back most of what I borrowed from her to buy the silver car, so hopefully she will be happy for awhile or at least till the blue car gets delivered.

Just a few more details. Mark has contacted the transport company.

We are more than booked up shipping cars to the Vette Fest, but if you want the car there???

As far as the exhaust. It is a Stock Style with a cross flow muffler.

ps The Case of Tasty Kakes sent from Sam have arrived! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

The car was delivered today and in typical Stefano fashion, it was much nicer than he told me over the phone. How is that for service Reliable picked the car up Saturday in Chicago and it was delivered to Huntington beach Ca. in five days.

Re: 1970 L78 Nova NOM

I did not get a chance to get any pictures because I was busy getting the car in the garage before my wife got home. You know not telling my wife seemed like a good idea back then but now reality has come and it is only a 2 car garage. I will give it about a day before all hell breaks loose. I really should know better I once had a car I bought from Bill Rose delivered the day before Mother's day and that did not go well either.

Boy Mark, Your wife can't be that bad!!! Does she know you are talking about her again? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gifI have an idea.....convince your wife and yourself to move out of Hollywood and come back east or out by Darren and I bet you give yourself about a $1000.00 a month raise on expenses and lifestyles. There are some good jobs out our way where you can make a decent living and not spend so much to live and raise a family. Only drawback is your weather and scenry is awsome out your way. But its nice here or the midwest too. Gas is $3.12 a gallon here and cheesesteaks are $6.00. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Glad to hear that you are happy. It is a very nice L78. Now you can have fun doing some research and chasing down some info.

Re: 1970 L78 Nova NOM

Stefano, I had a chance to look the car over last night while the wife was asleep. I can not thank you enough for the great car and the smooth transaction. I usually do not bother somebody about a car that was out of my price range for over a year. But there was something about this Nova that kept drawing me back to it and I am so glad it all came together like it did.

Sam, my wife just could not understand this L-78 fever I have had for the last couple of years. To be honest she is right and I should accept the 2 Toyotas in the garage and 3 great kids but I have always had at least 1 old car to tinker with. She will be upset for a couple of days then she will go on to something else and everything will go back to normal. No question you guys have the life back east but I can not handle the cold weather anymore. We have pretty mild seasons down here and I have grown used to it. Hopefully the Nova will learn to like it too.

Mark, Your bio is "manager at dealership" she had to know that you had oil for blood when she met you!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif I met my wife in August of 1973 at Maple Grove Raceway. Been together ever since! There is NO question in her mind that I will never give up cars so we incorporate the 3 grandkids and any of our own kids who wants to come to a couple local shows to come. I support my wife on her hobbies and she supports me on my stuff. Plus, when I kick the bucket all this stuff is hers. If she sells all this car stuff and paper stuff I have for a dollar its a profit for her. Explain that to the little women. Better yet..... tell her to call the First Lady of Donahue, Iowa and she WILL set her straight!! She is the reigning queen of the nova/Deuce world!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: 1970 L78 Nova NOM

Sam and Ken, I am making my wife out to be a bad person and that is not fair to her. The last company I worked at for 18 years required a large commitment of time. The owner set this standard and he still has one of the strongest work ethics I have seen. My wife stresses that I spend quality time with the family doing activities that everybody enjoys. The cars I enjoy but everyone else has found other interests, so we compromise allot. If you saw the last two L-78 project cars I brought home over the last couple of years. You could understand her concerns.
