Like I said if you need a piece of paper to authenticate a car then your in sad shape sure its nice to get paperwork but I don't need any just more to keep up with and no there is no difference in changing emblems seat covers or engine parts with repo parts than there is with having a correct build sheet made I understand that some may use it to falsify a car but I can tell the difference and so should you if your a buyer or collector

I believe 99.9% of the board subscribe to this statement by Kurt: "There's a big difference between a reproduction part required for the function of the vehicle and a piece of paper that is used to authenticate a vehicle".

IMHO Joey your statements are foolish and reckless and not what this site is about. The integrity of are hobby is at stake. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

I have to agree, you're missing the point of most of the membership. And exactly why would you desire a fake piece of paper that says what your car is?

Paperwork is just one piece of the information about a car. But it can be pretty important when evaluating a car.

"and no there is no difference in changing emblems seat covers or engine parts with repo parts than there is with having a correct build sheet made "

I really can't understand how a grown person who is active in this hobby today could make such a statement. I won't repeat my birth certificate analogy, and it's not just joey; if the original poster of this thread is selling his "packages", there are a LOT of other people who subcribe to the same misguided philosophy and ethic.
So, So, very sad.............. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Nope, that's what reproductions are for to give everyone a chance to own a copy of THE ORIGINAL---NOT to pass it off as an original.--This Originality thing must have some meaning since Original paintings--Original historical documents are considered special and given the respect they deserve. There are thousands of reproductions of historical documents which gives everyone a chance to see and own a copy of the Original. ...Since there's so many copies of the Declaration of Indepence --I guess we can destroy the Original now....Extreme case ,but the cement seems to be very thick on this "Don't worry I'll print up what you need--It'll look and pass for the Original"-attitude..........

In case something was taken out of context or this entire post was missed, here it is again.
The voice of reason.
"Those papers are the birth certificates of the cars we love. They may have survived, or they may not have. Either way, we only have what we have. Recreating new ones to our desire is unethical, and should be illegal.
A person may have been born with with a given name that he doesn't appreciate, so he changes his birth certificate to read Richard Wadsworth, when in reality he was still born a Dick Wad."
not my words, but I couldn't agree more.

not sure I follow the story about the little girl, what if she had the Z16 vert. should everybody have one because fake papers would allow it? Sometimes you have to be the only person that has one.

Well, Joey has certainly taken the Heat away from the orig. Post/Mr. Clemens https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Lets not lose sight of the real issue here, the guy creating the problem, not so much those who have differing opinions than our own... not that I endorse that different opinion.. but the real issue here is the creation of these Fake Documents and how they get used. If Mr. Clemens truly washes his hands of the entire mess, than I guess there is nothing else we can do, other than denounce it, stay sharp and continue to use the BUYER BEWARE theory when looking at these great cars and any documentation they may have with them!! I tell everyone, never be shy about asking for help, asking someone to look at something for a second opinion, a second set of eyes, even the best of us can and do get fooled..

Deep breath...

Next!

A guy stopped me on the street earlier this morning and pulled me over to the side opened the right side of his coat there must have been 20 watches hanging there--I said no pal not interested. He said you like cars--And opened the left side of his coat --hanging there were buildsheets all makes and models--He said I can let you have 2 LS6's and a ZLI --for $100.00 and I'll even throw in one of these genuine Rolex watches for free. I only had $50.00 on me and he wouldn't budge on his price. ........Can't get a freakin break............

Gentlemen; The trouble i have with fake sheets is when i die and my date matching clone LS6 Chevelle i leave to my nephew gets sold (because he wants to buy a new Mustang)with the fake build in the glove box. Down the road a buyer (who paid double for it because it is now the real deal), finds out it is really a clone. Who's going to be sued?
