THE POST WAS SOLEY INTENDED TO SEE IF THIS CAR WAS WORTH PURSUING ...... NOT TO CREATE A MYTH .....I DON'T ROLL LIKE THAT ! IS THIS SITE JUST SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR A PRIVILEDGED FEW OR FOR EVERYONE ? THIS IS IF YOU'RE REFERRING TO MY POSTS AND ME . THANKS , RICHARD no vin, no pics, but it's real, crap. WI've just had it with all the chain jerking from guys with 3 posts. henever they're asked for docs. that are all excuses and eventually just run & hide. Richard, this is a site where people who KNOW really want to help the folks that DON'T. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ouguysrock.gif
It is not what you ask, it's how you ask it. Or it's not what you say, but how you say it. There are lots of guys here who flip cars, but IF they present the car as something without the proof to back it up, you WILL have a thread like this one. You were fishing for information on a car that you wanted to buy, then sell, for a profit. No problemo. Please be aware that like you, there are many, many others here with the same objective: Buy Low, Sell High. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif If you think that you have found a car that nobody here knows about, think twice. Don't think about being thought of as a fool. However, it's better to be "Kuntry Dumb" than "Slick Willy". These guys will quickly dump sand on any oil found on the track. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif |

He was the Baltimore plant manager in 1970 He had 3 LS-6's that He drove in the beginning of the year a Green one , a Gold one and a Black one don't know the order , I do remember that the Black one ran much better than the other 2. The green one probally was the Pilot but there were always more than one. I have to find a buildsheet that was handwritten I have for a 1971 labeled PP2 1/2 Pre production run pull at end of line for inspection built @ June of 70, a Malibu again no emblems with all the SS equippment 402, Th400, F41, 3:31 12 bolt, HD cooling,14x6 wheels, baby moons, White with a Blue top and Cloth bench interior. Not sure where the $70K out of the blue quote came from either https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Not me.
Better to get the Student Discount then the Senior Citizen discount.. though, on second thought, the senior discount might just be better https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif |

Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
I can't answer that as Glenn passed a few years back. It was really cool when I moved in one day him and his son were cutting the field next to me and saw all the Chevelles that I have moved up here and the Stories just started rolling . He was a GTO fan, but the 70 LS-6 definately impressed him. There barn had several GTO's that I wound up with and his son still has the 73 GTO 4spd that his dad had built specially for him for his 16th birthday !

Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
The 70K came from a dealer that called me asking what I thought it was worth. He can sell it to me for 70K. It seems this car that wishes to remain private is known all over the country.

Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
What a terrible thread this has turned out to be. Greed has reared its ugly head again in this hobby. Has any body kept track of how many people now are trying to sell this particular car that they don't even own? I guess when there's a dollar to made, morals go out the window.

Wish I had kept that one ! Jim [/ QUOTE ] Jim - I'd love any more info you have on the car you are describing. It sounds similar to my Monaco Orange 70. Although you're saying this white and blue car was built "with SS equipment," the options you listed could be installed on any 70-72 Chevelle since they were not SS-specific. This includes the 402 BB, although it would have been the 330hp LS3 in a non-SS car rather than the 350hp L34 (in 1970). In 71 and 72 there was a single 402 engine (the LS3) for both SS and non-SS cars. Here's the build sheet from my base model 70 Chevelle with those same options you listed. Interestingly, it was built at the end of June 1970 - right around the time you say this 71 was built: http://shapeconsulting.com/malibu400...uildsheet4.JPG |

Hey Bill Pritchard , if you think i'm stirrin the pot on purpose .....maybe we need to talk (270)590-9055 cell .....call me anytime !!!!!!! Some of you guys are the ones that get your panties in a knot over some lil question . Read the whole post on teamchevelle and see if others aren't questioning the whole swapping deal or piece by piece replacement ........looks to be various opinions ! Too many wearin their opinions/feelings on their shoulders around the sites . I don't sugarcoat diddly and aint gonna start now because of a select few don't like how I "present , ask , or conduct" a question or what have you . I can guarantee you one thing and that's that i've never screwed over a guy on a deal , sold a misrepresented car , or any other unlawful act . Check my ebay rating "mod155" 100% and will stay that way ! My last credit score was an 804 .........sounds like a crook ....huh ! I really shouldn't even explain sh#t to some of you ........you don't believe anyways and nobody else is "straight up" like all of you that are questioning if I am ! Some of you sound like you're a little "TOO BIG & TOO GOOD" for the general public .....might wanna start a "CLICK" for few that are in the inner circle of whatever you got going on . I'm serious ..........BE A MAN and call me if you have a problem ! Richard Harlow

Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
Hey Richard...we don't need the bull$hit here...Do you really expect to get anything accomplished by acting the way that you do?
You have posted things on numerous PUBLIC forums. You have your opinions...others have theirs. Leave it at that. Don't harrass or threaten people here...or I imagine that you wont be long lived on this site. You are an adult...act like one. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif |
Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
Hey Explant , i'm not threatening no one ! When one tries to judge my character , morals , or what have you .........I TAKE OFFENSE ! What if I went around judging your character , you , or said you were a crook ? Would you take any offense if it weren't TRUE ???????? Hell yeah you would and anyone else . You're right about us all having our own opinions , but don't be judging me until you've walked a mile in my shoes ! Have a nice day , Richard

Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
You just cant have anything nice any more without it getting torn apart what a shame !
|
Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
Like I said...act like an adult or take it elsewhere...
No need to post your phone number on the net and ask people to call you...so you can "tell them like it is". Why are you so defensive anyways? No one else is entitled to their opinion? Anyways I'm done with this...it's too much a waste of my time |
Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
Geeeeeeeze ............uh ...........I guess i'm defensive when i'm attacked .........MAKE SENSE ???????? Thank You

Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
Examine your initial post again. You stated you "found" the car, when in fact you have never laid eyes on it,claimed it was a "one of thirteen built LS6 plain jane Malibu"- 99,9% of the members here know there aren't any records for Chevelles in that respect. The price was 90K firm, and you declined to provide any documentation to validate the claim-instant story car.Brother, all these cats are from Missouri,it's all about keepin it real first and foremost and profiting second.
This is eerily reminiscent of a certain rally green L89 Nova, but that's another thread https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif |
Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
Calm down..all of you please. Driver was quoted a price of 90K. Apparently someone ahead of him is looking to make at least 20k. Or maybe 20 guys are looking to make 1K. Driver on the Chevelle site was talking about selling vin, trim tags etcx off a car in order for someone to rebody a car. Some of us have a big problem with that but others have no problem with it. Lets keep these discussions civil please.....Then I will rant....

Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
Hey Charley , THANK YOU and the pm supporters . You'll prolly catch hell for your post . Yeah , maybe I went about things wrong and i'm sure i'll continue to screw up , but at least I can admit to my mistakes unlike some others .........I know enuf about alot of things to be dangerous ........ and i'm still green to the car flippin crap also , but i'm learnin in a hurry . I never meant to rock the boat what so ever , but when I do you would really know ....... and I never back down when i'm attacked ....especially for no reason .......to me at least . You don't have to like me , but don't ever accuse me of doing something illegal or attack me or my morals . I have not once accused or attacked anyone before in any of my few posts except when I retaliate from the attack . One guy said so your "claim to fame on ebay"(teamchevelle) ........I was only referring to my rating . Oh well , derive how you want and I will do the same ...........AT LEAST I CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING I NEVER SCREWED NONE OF YOU OVER AND NEVER WILL ! THANKS , Richard

Re: 70 LS6 MALIBU auto/bench Docs. 30,000 Mile Val
I don't usually call some one who seems like he's getting hot under the collar with his post, cause it's a waste of energy to puff and strut or get into a pissing contest on the computer screen or over the phone. But, talkin to Richard(Driver155) , I found him to be a proud and sincere fella who just got off on the wrong foot with the "Rules of Engagement" when it comes to talking about or selling cars on this site or others like it. This site in paticular has become one of Hobbies Safeguards and all involved should be congratulated. Richard thought he was gonna come to this site chat about selling a car and that was that. Well he got a fast education and understands about the smoke and mirror deals that have materialize in the Hobby. He's just lookin to learn about the hobby and hopes to be looked at thru reputation as a person whose honest word and dealings is his bond. He has won awards for his car painting and comes across southern BB chevys from time to time.--NOTE: This is not a paid annoucenment for Richard--Just tryin to clear the air , cut the guy some slack and get back on track............Joe
