All time favorite hood. Did the car leave the factory with a Muncie trans?

Awesome!! We can stop holding our breath now! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif I saw some pics of this car a little over a year ago - simply couldn't believe it! Way to go Steve and Jeff, can't wait to go see it when it's back in the states.

As it's been said before...couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! And kudos to Jeff...another one of the good guys!

I bet Brian was happy to take a trip to Hawaii to get a closer look at this piece of history...and to get out of the cold https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Congrats Steve, Brian and Jeff....and a big thank you to the owner who kept it all of these years! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Congrats, and it is in my favorite colour. It reminds me of when I found YS-074 in Kansas. You are going to have one beautiful car when finished.

What kind of motor did it run? Is the "Dana" motor still around?

I see on the work order there is a scatter shield, headers, tach, hurst linkage, traction bars... cool day-2 racer!

Awesome find. Congrats to all! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Steve, If you ship MATSON Navigation via Port Of Seattle, I often times work there and know the operation and people. Let me know if I can do anything to help coordinate the transporation process.

I like the idea of getting the engine and tranny installed and showing it "as found" at SCR-10 this summer...I'll see what Brian, Joe and Frank can do to make that happen.

The scattershield and M21 tranny are presently in Bert's '69 Camaro, but he's agreed to remove them in time for the mainland shipping.

Thanks for the help, Chuck...I may take you up on that, depending on ground transport arrangements to SCW in PA.

Here's shot of the 427 engine [3955270] that Dana installed.

Looks like the carb had that funky shooter into the secondaries - common for the period eh? I see them in the old mag articles about Dana, Motion, etc...

------What a story!!! To top it off the parts sellers are not going to make much off the restoration. There dont appear to be any parts missing at all. Long time owner looks like a good guy. Bet he will be making a few trips to the 48 for various shows. Be neat to see him make a pass in his car once or twice.........Bill S

SS mentions that in his original post, an April '69 conversion.

[ QUOTE ]
.....Included in the paperwork that Bert got when he bought the car was a 2-page detailed Dana Chevrolet work order/invoice that listed all the conversion parts and labor done to the car in April, 1969....
