Thanks for sharing that story on your dad. I'm sorry he didn't get the motor he ordered, but that is exactly the reason these cars are where they are today. There has been limited availability on these cars, well, since they were new! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Reason for the sale is a business venture, namely that I'm going into business for myself, and made the decision to sell the car for start up capital as opposed to soliciting angel capital (interpretation: nagging silent partner)! Tough decision?... yes. Thanks for the compliments.

Yes 150k buys alot of cars today , but 150k I can tell you is not out of line for a brewster green 73 SD.. they are getting between 90-125 for red or white drivers. I know of a red 73 4-speed nom that just sold 110k driver Good Luck Great car Brewster green is the bomb

Southernfriedcj, in an earlier post you mentioned it should have gone to the B-J auction. I purposefully avoided the three big auctions out West in January. Although those guys do a terrific job with their events, I felt the 16% to 20% mark up of buyers and sellers premiums would not be necessary for this car.

BigG, thanks for insights on the recently sold comp.

was this car at the Pure Stock drags at Norwalk in 2003?
if not,it's twin was there, and sounded wicked.

Re: 1973 Brewster Green SD-455 Trans Am Super Duty

andy tantes, I don't believe this was the same car at Norwalk, however, most SD's have that same sound, that of a round port 455 breathing 800cfm's (stock)! If anyone has ever used Gardner exhaust, then you know that the note Eric's mufflers makes are awesome as well.

Beautiful car. I do love the 2nd Generation Camaro and Firebird. I cannot believe the price of this car and other muscle cars these days.

Amazing. I still do not understand who would buy this car over a new 2007 Porsche Turbo or a new Ford GT. Just mystifies me.

Congratulations on the interest this car has drawn and I hope you get $170,000 for it!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

It's more likely to have a '07 Porsche Turbo or a Ford GT pull up next to you at the red light than to have a '73 SD pull up next to you.

Autoinsane...Here is a pic of a 1997 twin turbo Porsche I bought new. New it cost about 110,000.00. I put 46K miles on it in a couple years and sold it for 80,000.00. I have a new Mercedes that has probably dropped 80K in value in 1 1/2 years of ownership. The new stuff is neat but it goes down in value as opposed to the old stuff. Two different animals. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/243956-tn_Porsche.jpg

Hey that looks like my old Honda 50 minibike in the passenger seat! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif You still got that? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif

By the way, beautiful bird. Believe it or not I like the green over the red. No offense. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

I had the exact same one when I was a kid. Must be the same year. When I graduated to a car my father sold it at a garage sale without telling me. Probably got $200 bucks for it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Hey Charlie.... you wanna adopt me???? I will take out the trash and keep the cars clean!!!

Good point on the muscle cars being an exceptional investment thus far. Hopefully they keep going up in value. Time will tell.....

1 hours 52 minutes left on the auction. I hope it sells, I don't wanna have to make room in the garage and explain a purchase of another TA to the wife. I've been promising her an FJ Cruiser for several months, now would not be a good time to succumb to the urge for this awesome TA.

If anyone needs a Honda Mini Trail, fully restored....99 Pace probably has 30 of them.
