Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
--------Ill be able to check out your ages if you answer yes to this question; Does anybody remember M-70 Mickey Thompsons??? I had a set on my 67SS Chevelle. The Mickey Thompson tire and wheel company was located in Cuyahoga Falls OH. back in the day. I worked for an office filing systems company that worked out of the same warehouse for a couple of months. Had all the tires I needed!!!!........Bill S

Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Don't remember them but I have an almost NOS pair of H70/15 Mickeys (RWL) I got from the DON of Kensington, GTO man. Love the Mickey Thompson script.

Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
I had air shocks and the H-block extension too - should have had more air in the shocks that night https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
Cool pics of Sam's Z, nice stance - not overdone, what size is on the front? |
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Oh my God, give me a heart attack, i think that is the most beautiful car on the planet, can't afford it now, but, i found a perfect 69 body, 69 date coded 512 block, Muncie M-21, BV 12 bolt rear, and am destined to have what they call these day's a "recreation", the good news now is that i will drive the ever loving ---- out of it and it will be a trailer queen. Of All my cars that was by far my "favorite" of all time, ever. Dave, don't sell it unless you feel it in your heart to re-unite it with the guy who loves them, THE MOST!PLEASE! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
THE ONLY THING I HAD AT THE TIME, THEY LOOK GOOD THOUGH.IT DID HAVE THE BEST SHIFTING MUNCIE I'VE EVER DRIVEN. DROVE IT ONCE OTHER THAN ON AND OFF THE TRAILER. LETHAL, SCARY, DON'S ASSESSMENT AND THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ASSESSMENT WAS THE SAME, DON'T INSURE IT, WE'RE NOT GOING TO CONTINUE TO BUILD IT. THE CLUTCH WAS WORKING AFTER I DROVE IT LAST, PERFECTLY. I HEARD dAVE HAD SOME PROBLEMS, I HAD JUST PUT A HAYES CLUTCH AND BORG WARNER PRESSURE PLATE IN IT! IS IT FOR SALE AND COULD I MAKE INSTALLMENT'S, HA! SIMPLY AWESOME!KEEP IN MIND NOVA'S ARE HARD TO FIND PARTS FOR, BRIAN HENDERSON HELPED WITH CORRECT GRILL & EYEBROWS, CORRECT WHEEL COLOR PAINT AND MANY TIDBITS OF INFO. i THINK I DROVE IT MAYBE 2 MILES, THE MOST MEMORABLE MILES OF MY LIFE! MAYBE SOME DAY WE CAN RE-UNITE! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gifNOTHING ELSE EVEN COMES CLOSE IMO! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Had L60/15's on my 69 nova. Had a shackle kit (1st. hole) and rolled the lip. I ran the Schenuits (spelling) Kelly Springfield brand. Made in Conchochoken, Pa. Tire size on the front of the camaro are F70/15 repops.
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Wonder why they don't reproduce the Polyglas tires in a L60-15???????? I would buy two. I think all you can get is F60 or G60......in a 60 series.

Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Correct. Probably because they didn't come on any car from the factory. I guess it would not be worth the money for them to do it.
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
The tires on the car were the same as when i got it. It did have the holes in the rear valance, but as i recall no emblem. i did not have any spacers and loved the way it sat. I drove the car 1 time with no scraping. I put the tabs on the wheel center caps that i got from Troy C. I fixed the shifter and it worked great compared to other Muncie's i've driven. I had to repair the Tach, paint the rocker panels, no rust, just the painter didn't squat low enough. Hard to find Nova parts, still needed a few small items, IMO, still Awesome and the lacquer paint is gorgeous. Got my diecast today, disappointed no white letter tires.

It was a fun car, took a lot of my time and money, and eventually I painted it resale red to sell it - needed the money for my last year of college. I'll have to dig out a smokey pic https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |

Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Any info on the car would be great. I think there's an undiscovered silver one floating around the Springfield area yet.
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
hi, yes that is what they looked like, painted not chrome , same centers , is the xt code stamped by the valve stem hole ? what is the width ? the ones seen had chrome trim rings ? used condition what would they be worth ? thanks tom

Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Sounds like the silver car that was endo'd!
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
hi, checked with a friend about this car , yes it was a 1970 nova deuce yenko, car was originally green , bought by a body shop at auction 74-75, he sold it later , was purchased and motor was pulled for a jet boat, that motor was blown up in the jet boat , another person bought it painted it red , built different engine , and he wrecked the front end supposedly hit a tree , had different subframe installed and dog house and cowl straightened at chevy dealership, and sold again that was the last he had heard about this car thanks tomss
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
I don't suppose any of those guys have an old registration, or something with the VIN on it?
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
hi, will check with my buddy , he worked on the car , but I doubt he has the vin , he was never one of the several owners , tom ss

Was one of the owners of that Green Deuce named Neal Brighton?..(sp?) Was it Citrus Green or Forest Green? |
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Definitely not the silver one that we were thinking of!
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
hi, no never heard that name mentioned, will ask buddy what shade of green it was originally , was red when wrecked , fixed and resold, will check that name with him also, tom
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
I have an old red trunk lid with black painted on Deuce stripes. Looks like it was used on a Deuce repair job Was pulled off a Nova in a junk yard in MA. |
Re: 1969 Yenko Nova
Cool! I believe that car's engine has been found - reportedly the car too, but that is unconfirmed. Got a pic?
