Re: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha, Nebraska
All,
I talked with my Dad about this subject and he informed me I was wrong. He said the salesman he bought his car from said they sold 5 or 6 Yenkos from that dealership. Sorry for the mis-information. Ken |

All Deuces?

Re: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha, Nebraska
That's interesting. The picture I have of my deuce being unloaded at Rapids shows a transport load. The time frame on the inventory sheet makes me believe your dad's deuce was on the same transport. That's 2 outta 6. Maybe Marlin can speculate as to where the rest went.

Re: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha, Nebraska
Ken,
Any chance you and dad have thought of coming to Omaha for H&H's all Chevy show in July? Maybe if you contact H&H they would be interested in having it in the showroom on display. I know they did it last year for a 69 Chevelle SS they sold new (original owner still has it). I'd love to see the Nova again too. I'm hoping to get to Lincoln for the Car Craft show but we'll have to see. Lewis |
Re: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha, Nebraska
Lewis,
We brought the Deuce and Vega up there a couple of years ago for their show. There was a beautiful black COPO Camaro in the showroom that day. Anyway, I don't think any of the sales people realized that Dad's car had been sold new there years ago so other than being a Yenko it really didn't have much significance to them. Kind of funny because he has purposely left the H&H emblem on the back ever since it was new. Maybe we'll make it up there this year. Hopefully we'll have it out for Americruise. Call me if you are coming down to Lincoln and we can get together during Americruise 402-430-9682. Thanks, Ken |
Re: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha, Nebraska
I was at H&H the year the COPO from Crete was there. Beautiful car. How did I miss both your cars???? Hopefully you can make it again this year. If you do make it let me know and maybe we can get together at the house and do some grilling before you head back.
I'm still not sure about Americruise because my car isn't exactly highway friendly and heading back and forth each night isn't real practical either at 6 mpg running 110. I'll keep you in mind if I do decide to head down. Lewis 402-861-9413 |
Re: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha, Nebraska
I learned my lesson about running high compression in a street car, Last time I bought 110 it was almost $6 a gallon. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Hi. The car you guys are talking about belongs to my Dad. He bought it new in 1971 from H&H in Omaha. It is the only Yenko ever sold at that dealership. I came home from the hospital in that car when I was born in 1972 and we still have it today. We get it out every once in a while for special occasions. Thanks, Ken Halvorsen [/ QUOTE ] Ken, That is so cool that you were brought home from the hospital in a Yenko... how many of us can say that? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif (I was brought home in a '67 Mercury Cougar, not nearly as cool.) BTW, I live in Lincoln too, I've never seen your dad's Deuce around but I sure hope to sometime! |

I just recently purchased a 70 Chevelle LS6 that was sold new at H&H. It's the red one above the Monte Carlo trunk.

Re: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha, Nebraska
Well that is cool. Tell us more about your LS6. How do you know that is your LS6 in that photo?

My car was originally a cranberry red stripe delete car. It also came with the bench seat and 4 speed. I have all owner history and have even spoken with every owner. Every owner but one, went to the same high school. Granted there is a 20 year span in that time. I've also talked to the owners of the dealership and they remembered the car, that is where I got the picture. Some more info for you. I bought the car last July as a roller and with the help of a previous owner with tracked down the original motor. I still do not have the motor yet as the current owner is not ready to sale. Here is a picture from 1974.

Re: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha, Nebraska
Great photos. Love the vintage photos. Good persistence on tracking the orig engine. Do you have orig documentation on this car and know where it was delivered? Red no-stripes is a good look. I don't see your current photo above. Fill out your profile when you get a chance.
Thanks. |
