Re: 1970 L78 Nova
Also included with the car are a correct date coded set of 4 SS wheels (current are Repro), an original shifter, and correct fan Blade.
The L78 will be on display in the Members rides/ sYc display at the Spring Chevy Vette Fest. |

Re: 1970 L78 Nova
Is there a 'C' on that rear tube just before the 'BT'? The 'C' is usually off to the left, apparently was stamped separately due to the '69 gang holder not having room for the extra letter!

[/ QUOTE ] Nothing about Novas gets by Marlin. I must have had '69s on the brain when I cropped the picture, but the rear does have the C stamped before the BT and the letter is not in gang form and more consistent with the date code stampings. |
Re: 1970 L78 Nova
Nice! That's a '70 thing, and the 'C' is always outside the normal gang holder area, and usually crooked - different depth - and in a different location vertically. I'm not sure if the '71+ Novas have a three letter code, I think they may have gone back to the two letter version.

Re: 1970 L78 Nova
That's a beautiful car Steve, I've drooled all over it many times. I can't for the life of me understand why this car hasn't sold. Who ever buys this car is going to have one fine ride. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: 1970 L78 Nova
Nickey did sell the car to Brad, who now has it on consignment with us. I know he has his eye on another special car.
Does anyone know of a later L78? |
Re: 1970 L78 Nova
Steve, in all my L78 travels that is latest date I have seen...latest we have is 1st week of July/70...I'll bet that car was born with one of those high priced dual-snorkle air cleaners https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif ....let's see now, how about I trade ya 2 837's for that fancy air cleaner?.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif
good luck with the car..wilma |
