Re: COPO.com Website

I want to thank ED, for all he has done for me, the help, research, and getting to the truth of the matter about my Corvair..There will always be questions as to right , and wrong, but as for me.. ED, did it by the book, I trust him in what he says, and does as far as my car is concerned, I wish him luck, and happiness in whatever he does in the future, I can't thank him enough for what he did for me in the past.....Kasey

Re: COPO.com Website

I wrote Ed letters almost 20 years ago and he always replied back quickly. Looking back at some of the the lame questions I asked, I think of what a gentleman he is. I bought his original COPO Connection book and wore it out reading it. Ed, you will be missed.

Re: COPO.com Website

I was just working with Ed to get my Connection paper for my COPO. My VIN was on the registry for less than 2 weeks..so close yet so far...fortunately I have good GM paper on my car!! He will be missed dearly, but family has to come first.

I have just returned from a long needed vacation in Florida, and just wanted to take a minute to thank all of you who wrote and called. I have been considering becoming less involved in the business end for a number of years, allowing me to enjoy the hobby a bit more. To end all speculation, there is no reason other than the fact that it has become too much work for me to handle, since I also have a full time job which has become much more demanding. Thanks again for your kind words.

Re: COPO.com Website

I really admire those individuals who had the foresight to gather and compile information on the cars that are rare today. Without their vision we would be hooped. I have gathered info on Olds 442's with the W-30 package and have been doing it for 23 years are are nowhere close to what would be needed to go "public" with the info as others have been able to do with other margues (ie COPO). I and others gather this info because we have a passion for it, certainly not to get rich from it. I believe most of the "information gatherers" have other careers and would have to use a balance of their availabe time to devote to the hobby. Somewhere along the line we all get burnt out. I haven't spun a wrench since June when I finished a 3 year restoration that consummed 1500 hours. For the past 5 months I have been enjoying the open attitude of this forum and have learned a lot about Supercars, Royals,Hemi's and many other great brands. Its great break from spinning wrenches. You will see a write up of my cars soon in Members Rides. Thanks to all of you for your contribution, keep the info alive-whenever you have the time.
