Yes, that is an X3 code. As far as the shop dog is concerned he's my helper ya see dogs age 7 years to our 1 so i figure that every hour he works on the car I can bill for seven. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Since you are totally dismantling the car for the restoration, and I am sure you will be fully detailing it in every way, it would be a great time to make that Z of yours 100% numbers matching again. Of course this is JMO. |

Sam,
This article will give you an idea what it takes, as you probably know the LS motor is not a drop-in. http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/116_0405_swap/ PS Steve Heino does good work if you want to bring your car out to the Portland area... |

(Not in the car)...If anyone knows or think they know about this let me know...I have an old title so I can verify anything you can find.. |

Re: 1969 Z/28 Restoration Pictures
Sam, are you going to have the body dipped like mine was? Lots of little dents, holes and assorted panel repairs popped up so Rich replaced it all with NOS metal. If you're confident about the body it could probably just be blasted.

I lost track of where he moved to, where is his new shop? Kevin [/ QUOTE ] Hey Kevin, I posted Rich's address on the thread here...How are you making out with your car and mule? |
Re: 1969 Z/28 Restoration Pictures
Hi Sam, plans have changed a little, I'm having some health issues taken care of, so I have a little extra time to work on the Camaros. Decided the mule needs a new set of clothes first, so I am tearing the trim off to be sent out this month for much needed paint and body work. I hope to have it back for next seasons cruise nights. The SS will be next with the completion of the body brace. Then next spring when the weather warms it will be time for a dip https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif With my Friends orange Z clone, yours, Jeff Hs Z and mine, there will be a lot of orange in the parking lot. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif

Nothing like Hugger Orange https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
I hope everything is ok and its nothing serious.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: 1969 Z/28 Restoration Pictures
Hugger Orange https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif I found original paint on the A pillers, that way we can get the hue just right! BTW, original hugger orange does NOT match Chevy orange engine paint. My friend, who is really talented, is going to take it all winter and do the body work and misc patching and paint in the spring. Then depending on how long it takes me to put the trim back on will determine which cruise night I make. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif
As to health, its serious, but OK. Kidney and prostate cancer, both caught early and 90% chance of total cure without chemo. Kidney was taken out 9/16 and prostate is coming out mid Nov. So I am in-between surgeries and have some time and energy to catch up on projects. |
Re: 1969 Z/28 Restoration Pictures
Go to your local DuPont jobber they can mix huggar orange in base clear or single stage they have the formula
