I have noticed that most digital cams seem to bleach out/lighten up the true shade of green cars-this one is no different and makes 48 look like 45.What poll established the general consensus that green spelled resale death for muscle cars?.Not too long ago there was a gorgeous 70Z that fetched a record price,the owner didn't seem to mind it was citrus green.How many 70 Chevelle green's were there,5?.You can insert the cliche'there's no accounting for taste,but take a look at some of the bold colors that are coming on new cars.
Btw black is a shade,not a color..but there is no denying it's popularity and easier resale.Problem is the type of person that will be willing to fork up the $$ for a #s matching correctly done car will be more inclined to wait for the right car with a history not impuned by color change.JMHO https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

C'mon Rick, Astro Blue with white stripes and black guts. I can see it now, and man, it looks sa-weet. Add a little Day 2 flavor like white headers and big-n-little Cragars. Yellow ladder bars. Finned diff cover. M/T valve covers. Edelbrock Tarantula, Holley 850. Rump-rump cam and turbo muffs. Suddenly it's 1977 and you're a kid again. Where's that young lady that's supposed to be sitting in the middle of that bench seat? Blue is her favorite color but red's okay too. She just likes the way the car presses her back into the seat when you hit it. She says to the loser, "Ain't he neat?" when you blow someone's doors off between the traffic lights. Yeahhhhh.

JOHN (looking ahead)Takes more than that to scare me.

Hey, I can't keep tracka all the punks lookin' for me.

FALFA
They say you're the fastest thing in the Valley. But that can't be your car, man. That must be your mama's car. Hell, I feel embarrassed just getting near ya.

JOHN

FALFA

JOHN
Field Cars drive through the fields, dropping cow s**t all over the place to make the lettuce grow.

Through all the insults, Carol has been cracking up.

CAROL (shouting)

John and Falfa both look at her and she sits back.

That didnt' come out right...

They both stop at a light now. Falfa roars his engine.

FALFA
Come on, boy, prove it. Let's go.

JOHN
Look kid, why don't you go out and win a few races, then come back and see me.

CAROL
Oh, race him, you can beat him.

John gives Carol a very fierce look and she sinks back into her corner.

FALFA
Hey, that's a tough lookin' girl you got with you, man. What're you doin'? Trying to pick up a few extra bucks babysitting?
(grinning at Carol) Hey, Doll. Why don't you come on and ride
with me--in about ten years?

JOHN
Leave her out of this. This is just between you and me.

Falfa revs his engine again. John thinks a moment, then shifts down into first.
The light changes, and John and Falfa take off, tires screaming. The two cars perfectly in sync, rocket down the block toward the next red light. John starts to slow for the light. Falfa looks over, laughs, and runs the red light. John stops.

CAROL
Wow! He's really fast, isn't he?

JOHN
Yeah. But he's stupid.

I think you should call the previous owner and ask him. You should also ask how he feels about you considering to sell the car you just bought from him and probably for more money!

All that sounds way to familiar. I know how the previous owner feels. When I got the car it was triple black. Right now it's triple metal. Maybe I should just clear coat the thing and then there would be no questions about what condition the body's in. Maybe I could pass it off as a DeLoren.

Some say that triple green is ultra rare....so are 1975 Ford Pinto wagons.

Perhaps Andy Haas could chime in. He purchased a green/green LS-5 and changed the color of the car and the interior. Though it is not yet completed, he may be able to add some pros and cons to this conversation. He does check in occassionally.

I had a '70 LS5 in the mid '80s,red/blk/blk stripes. Sold it and the guy still has it( hasn't run since he popped the motor 3 wks after puchase), I keep putting off trying to get it back because it's red. It looked great but, d#$n, there are alot of them and I've gotten all weird about orig. colors. If it were a green car I'd own it (again) already!Green is mean- black's for hacks! Just kiddin'Dennis!

OK, kind of a cheap shot. Actually, I guess I should have said "I am guessing it wasn't Mack Brown at the Texas State Fair." And yes, I realize pay backs are hell, and that eventually Mack will taste victory at the state fair (and likely during this year). I just hope it isn't during my lifetime.

I can remember our New car manager ordering a 70 Pontiac, after a 3 martini lunch,Butternut yellow ,tan vinyl roof ,red interior,and the car was built and shipped.How would you like to find that on a trim tag 35 years later when you're doing a restoration.

The dealer made the manager drive the car as his demonstrator until it was sold,for his punishment.He drove it about a month and couldn't take the abuse anymore.We ended up repainting the car red so it matched the interior and the car sold within a week.
