Re: speaking of barn finds !!!
Speaking of barn finds and Challengers, actually this one was sitting in a car port, not that many barns in Alaska.
I was finally able to purchase this car this spring after 17 years of waiting for the owner to sell. He owned this car since 1972. It's a 1970 Challenger 440-6 pack SHAKER hood car that is nicely optioned. Supposedly 1 of 6 Panther pink 440-6 shaker cars built by DODGE. Nice documentation, warranty papers, fender tag and 2 broadcast sheets. I will try to post some pics, never tried posting pics before, may need some help. Sorry was unable to post pics, any body want to help me out? Thanks Bruce |
Re: speaking of barn finds !!!

Re: speaking of barn finds !!!
It's not possible to find out how many V-code pink cars were made. But for the US market, they made 41 with all engines, from the 383 up to the Hemi.

Re: speaking of barn finds !!!
Thanks guys for the compliments, I'll put a story together and send it in.
In the Dec. issue of MOPAR ACTION which is now on the magazine racks, is a feature GATOR AID on another 70 Challenger 6-pack Shaker car I owned and restored, it is now owned by a member of SYC. It also was a barn find, sorta. Several cars that Ive known about locally for years but owners won't sell, 70 Fathom blue LS-6 chevelle numbers matching, parked since 73-74, 70 white LS-6 El Camino numbers matching, 69 Ralley Green SS 396/375 Camaro 4-spd non matching parked in the mid 70's. Re: speaking of barn finds !!!
WOW! Looking at picture td 3 I can see that it does have a rare option. I didn't know satellite dishes were available back then. Is there a wind resistance problem? Does it work better when you go faster??

(Anywhere on your property including your Garage)It keeps the Yuppies happy as they do not see these Cars as anything more than Yard Clutter. It benefits the Gov't as They keep revenue moving to the DMV and they benefit from the Taxes on the Insurance sale. even if the Poor Old Car is getting a 5 year restoration as some working stiff can only do in his spare time to Relax and Dream a little. First they want our guns, now our Cars!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |

Re: speaking of barn finds !!!
Hey Bruce...what's in your far right garage bay in td2 pic? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif The right margin of the pic cuts off a clear view to that bay...

Re: speaking of barn finds !!!
I would have to say Bruce is being rather modest with his restoration capabilities. On his first outing ever with his Go Mango 440-6 six shaker challenger at Mopars at the Strip in Vegas he won: 2nd overall e-body, 2nd overall peoples' choice, 2 major magazine feature articles and judges' selection to be shown at a special evening event at the Cannery Casino. It also appears the car could have done better if the typical Mopar production line practices like undercoating rear wheel wells had been implemented https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif
