Re: 67 Yenko
That can't be Howie's shop. I don't see even one beer can. The calendars look interesting though. Thank God you finally got it home. I agree with Cumby. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: 67 Yenko
Very cool and lucky find. So, this car originally was an RS to boot. Looks like every RS part was removed.
|
Re: 67 Yenko
Kim, very cool find. Tell us some history about the car, to me that's the most interesting part of these old cars.
|
Re: 67 Yenko
Damn it is a color match to Kevin's 67 except for the Black Roof.
I love the Deepwater with bright blue interior... that is one of the most awesome color combo's made in 67. RS, Fold down, rear speaker, and remote mirror that is a pretty well optioned Yenko. Can't ask for a better looking car, than a 67-68 RS IMO. |
Re: 67 Yenko
Still working on history, but what I have is the 1972 title. The car was raced sinced then. The guy I bought it from owned it around 30 years!!!!!!
|
Re: 67 Yenko
Dave, Car was class raced for years as a 68. They pulled all the RS stuff back then. They even filled in the lower pan where the back up lights were. He tolded me at one time they pulled the door glass and window vents out and replaced the glass with 68 glass. Lucky me they saved the original glass. The car has all of it's orginal glass except the drivers door.

Re: 67 Yenko
Frank, Spend time at your loc. drag strips. I have found 2 Yenko's and 2 COPO nova's there!!!! But I have 15-20 years at it. Kim
|
Re: 67 Yenko
Kim,
Do you have the original drivetrain? Did it come with the Yenko seperately, or did you have to track it down somewhere else. Also, you are going to restore it back to original, how it was sold new with all the RS items? Again, Congrats! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
Re: 67 Yenko
Tony, Drive train long gone. Some just don't have it anymore. The guy I bought it from who had it 30 years bought it - motor, trans. and hood. I am going to restore org. Including the RS. Working on org paper work as to what it came with from Yenko. Kim https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
|
Re: 67 Yenko
Can I have it ? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif....Doesn't hurt to ask...

Re: 67 Yenko
Charlie just tell us what you really want... No beating around the bush.
I too have always been told... "You can't get it if you don't ask for it" and "The worst they can say is NO and they might say YES" Go for it Charlie if Kim says Yes I am kicking my self in the ass for not asking first! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...arleySucks.gif |
Re: 67 Yenko
When I die my my wife will have a lot of stuff for sale!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: 67 Yenko
Well hopefully that won't happen for a long time Kim!
|
Re: 67 Yenko
How do I get ahold of your Wife ?
|
Re: 67 Yenko
Cool find. But man, somebody really went out of their way to change that car from its original configuration. Kim, can you see all the signs of the original stuff that was changed? Does the driver's door still have the original VIN tag on it? Do you plan on restoring it back to stock specs or as raced condition? And last question, did Yenko put the YS tag on the 67's anywhere?

Re: 67 Yenko
Kim, did the owner have any vintage pics of it?
|
Re: 67 Yenko
Jeff, The VIN is still there. the drivers door has hole for remote mirror. no Sy tags on 67's that I know of!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif The head light bucket is RS but been torched up and welded to the front fender!!! I plan to restore back to orginal. pics to follow. Kim https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: 67 Yenko
I honestly don't know if I would restore the car as it was raced(since most of it's life has been in that configuration) or restore it back to the way it was coming off the showroom floor. And that car has had a lot of changes made to it which is pretty cool to see the history as the car was transformed to race in specific classes. Keep us updated as you make progress and post any vintage pictures if you're lucky enough to find some from the previous owner.

Re: 67 Yenko
I can see it now...
Deepwater Blue, black vinyl top. Disc brakes? Then a set of DG wheels and '67 caps. Drums? Then a set of FC steel wheels with dog dish caps or maybe N96 mag wheelcovers. D70 redlines were the stock size but F's fill out the wheelwells better. Please, please don't put spoilers on it (sorry Budnate). White bumblebee stripe and body side pinstripes. Blue Deluxe interior. 427 cross-flags on the fenders. Stinger hood? Midyear Corvette sidepipes were a '67 Yenko option, right? Do it! I like this car more and more. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
Re: 67 Yenko
Those mid year covers on the 67 Camaros are TRICK! THEY ROCK https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif
