I believe it had the off-road LT1 cam in it?
I remember when Baker came to get it, we couldn't quite get together that day.

Hey, Guys I'm new here but I noticed that Chevy454 has made a post with some information from Muscle Car Review that is a winter 2004 issue. Can anyone tell me how to get a hold of this magazine. I looked at a couple book stores here and can't find it. I was a subscriber until it went under or what ever happened a few years ago. I really enjoyed that magazine and I'm glad to see it's back. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated (magazines website, or a phone number to subscribe what ever). Thanks a lot. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

69SSRSL89, That issue was out in early October and it disappeared quickly around here. I have an extra copy as I bought two or three for others that could not find it at their local bookstores. Private message me with your address and I will get it sent out to you............RatPack...............

Re: sYc members in print!

That is correct regarding the cam, that car also had GM High Impact drag gears in it. When Gary bought the car from me, I gave him the smog set up , original gears in the replacement gears GM box and I believe the original bump stick as well as other original parts that belonged to that car. The smog set up is mint as it was taken off the car almost immediately. That car had the build sheet, protecto plate, original owners manual etc. When I fired the car up in my garage Gary's eyes lit up, that car does sound awesome , I know a Mopar fan down the street from me was glad I sold it he did'nt like the idea of a small block blowing away his Hemi car. Don White had the exhuast put on it, it's a flow master system with custom bent 3" pipes with the factory chrome extensions it fits perfectly. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Just got this issue...inside is Phillip Giulbault's Citrus Green Yenko Deuce, which was perhaps one of the most talked about cars at SCR7. I heard I don't know how many people comment on having never seen a Citrus Green Deuce before but LOVING it once they saw one! Cool car, cool color, and even cooler guy...

Man what can be said about that color!!! Its so much better looking standing a foot away than one would think. Got to see the car in person at SCR7 as well and like most others, took plenty of pictures of it. Nice to see the site here (Yenko.net) mentioned in the article as well.

Phil, Congrats on making it into Super Chevy Mag.

DaJudge, those gears and bumpstick never made it to Pat when he got the car, but a host of other NOS and original pieces did, including that smog system. I wondered who had that system put on. It was actually a 2-1/2" system with the 40 series mufflers and they <u>did</u> sound good. We were going to put the original manifolds and exhaust back on the car, but it would have killed the engine from the amount of backpressure it would have created. Now the system is gone and a set of 18" x 3" collector extensions that I fabricated are in place. It gives the car a killer Super Stock sound! All the current owner needs is a set of 10" wide slicks and it would jerk the front wheels off of the ground! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif The original owner stated that it scared the Hell out of him when he first got it back from Jenkins/Strickler, I will have to agree!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif..........RatPack..............

Yep, know him pretty well. He's got a few sweet toys to say the least.
Funny thing is even though we live about 1/2 mile from each other, I firts met him in Michigan at the Berger All-Chevy show a few years back.

I believe that Tom Schlauch(TJS44) has his 1969 Trans Am with the RAV motor on the cover of a Pontiac High Performance Magazine( I don't remember the name...that's what happens when you get old)...I briefly looked at the magazine at the store, though I haven't bought it yet. Since I already get too many magazines...I got the evil eye from my wife when I was looking at it. I'll have to go to the store "alone" and score it.

Anyways, nice write up and pictures Tom...and congratulations! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif.

If no one posts pictures soon, I'll scan the article and pictures when I get the magazine.

Well I went to get the magazine...and they're sold out. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Tom directed me to Pontiac High Performance Magazine's Website and they have a nice small feature on the car. The article from what I remember is much more in depth, with many more pictures. I have included one below from their website.

Great car Tom! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Spike TV "AutoRox" 90 min special - January 25, 2005

On January 25th, Spike TV will be airing a 90 minute special program that's basically a televised car show for invited participant cars of various years/makes/models. The Inciner8or [LV's '57 Chevy convertible with 8 turbos] and the HRSS-454 were invited, with the Inciner8or being the feature car. The show is filming all this week inside the huge Barker Hangar, at the Santa Monica Airport, CA. The Inciner8or will be center stage during the 90 minute show, except to shuttle celebs from back stage to center stage throughout the show. Jay Leno called LV yesterday to arrange a private viewing of both cars this week at the set, so I wonder if they'll both be based in Las Vegas after the show, or not. More info about the show at: www.autorox.com/rsc/

Here is a shot of both cars yesterday at the Butler Hangar on the ramp of the Santa Monica Airport...

General question....what is Leno realy like? Is he really a car guy who would get in and get his hands dirty or is he a guy who has money and that is the only reason he is in the car hobby? In other words, if he were poor....would he be like me and be doing a "resto" in his three car shop?

Charley Lillard 01-19-2005 05:56 PM

Re: sYc members not in print, but on TV!!!!

I met Jay last year and got a couple hour tour of his shop. He is a absolute car nut before anything else. Very nice guy that is not talking down to you at all. He is very hands on with his stuff and probably knows more overall car info than most of us. His shop is about 3 miles from the studio. I got the impression that he is at the shop daily doing car stuff and then heads to the studio in the afternoon for the show taping. He was explaining the carb to me on my Yale motorcycle. Think nothing but nice things about Jay. One of the better car guys out there.

He had said in an interview that he wants to retire in 5 yrs so that he could spend more time on his car hobby.
