Re: $2 Million Hemicuda
Now this one is a rag, I think.
http://www.thecarconnection.com/imag...8213_image.jpg [ QUOTE ] I felt the star of the performance-car Americans was a "purple-people-eater" '71 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda convertible. The judges agreed and owner Harold Sullivan of nearby Auburn Hills, Michigan , drove off with its class trophy. [/ QUOTE ] Do I add this one to the list? Some one has told me the orange one is a Canadian export, that sound right Charley? Since you've driven it, lucky guy. |

Re: $2 Million Hemicuda
Which one does the owner of the barrett jackson auction own?. I know his is a purple one with a white interior as he had it on one of his shows. He said that it dosent have the right motor but he did find the original one overseas. Is this one of the imports?. Is it a 70 or a 71? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif I don't know how old that story was but i remember him saying it was worth about 750k and he would'nt be surprised if these cars soon made the million dollor mark. What i find amazing about these cars was how fast the value of them are going up. It wasent more than 3 years ago that you could buy them for around 500k. It wasent a year ago that they were selling for 1 mill. Now they've doubled in less than a year!!! AMAZING https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif What's the next one zooming to the top? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Hi Steve, the Hemi rags seem to be into the stratosphere. Don't count the RAIV Judge rags out, while not a Hemi, only 5 made in 69 & 17 in 70! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Re: $2 Million Hemicuda
Watch out for the 440-6 packs, although i am partial to the 427 Chevy's. The 440-6's will turn some serious torque if you don't over rev them with the old style heavy rods.

[ QUOTE ] What's so special about a hemi convertible? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif [/ QUOTE ] Not much, that's why I sold mine. The car had no soul...and it would never run better than a 14.05 at 105 mph. Though I wouldn't mind having it back just to sell it for $2,000,001. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif [/ QUOTE ] Theirs a Hemi-Cuda hardtop running 12.0 flat at F.A.S.T. Can someone tell me what makes some shakers black while others are that argent silver? [/ QUOTE ] In late 69 you could get a body colored shaker up til around the beginning of calender year 1970, then they were argent silver for the ease of the assembly line workers. In 1971 they were black. |
Re: $2 Million Hemicuda
it looks like the 71's have been accounted for. Guessing that 70 Hemi rags are equally scarce has there been any discussion if they've all been accounted for or have any slipped thru the cracks?

Re: $2 Million Hemicuda
I have always been told the only color keyed shakers were on red cars. Aside from that, argent silver for 70s and black for 71s.
I have 1 of each. John |
Re: $2 Million Hemicuda
also, for those who are curious. Two of the 71 rags live in chicago with a friend of mine.
1 red auto and 1 4sp winchester export. and they get driven..... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif |

Re: $2 Million Hemicuda
i think six pack cars will catch up to the Hemi cars.
there was a 70 Moulin Rouge(?)black top six pack R/T Challenger making the show circuit in the south.i saw it in Chattanooga around 1990. car was hauled in a closed trailer, cordoned off from the crowd, had 14K on the clock. not a shaker car,but EXTREMELY nice and everything original. |

1 x FY1 Auto
- BS27R1B396774 That was my old car. Kevin had it a while and sold it to buy the blue car he is selling now. He mentioned that he always regretted getting rid of the yellow car...maybe he wants to buy it back now? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...46-71cuda1.jpg |

I like the yellow car. Has the right shade of yellow.

The yellow one is part of The Brothers Collection and not for sale.

They should buy the blue one so I can sit in that one, too. Charley, Tell them I said Hi, next time you talk to them. Actually, I remember that blue one from when I lived in Denver in 1980 and it was part of the Soneff family collection. If I recall correctly it had been hit in the rear early in its life and was repaired. (The other blue four-speed car was a former race car). |

They already have a blue one.
