Re: My first day of Power Tour

Stopped down at the fair grounds for the pwr tour. Saw Mike Miller, and Jim Parks. Ran across Cpt Carl Stuber on the way out. Saw Charlies mule, and the GTO/chevelle, but it had started to rain and I did'nt see Charlie, and I've not met Mr Sandlin. Little Hoss was there, but I did'nt see Ken Boje. Lotta real cool cars. Wish We'd gotten there earlier. Some were leaving already. I have'nt seen so many cool cars on the streets of Davenport in 30 yrs. Schonye

Hope you guys on the Tour don't mind rain...it's forecasted to be around all weekend (the best chance of rain friday is in the PM)...
The Tour passes quite close by my house and right in front of a buddy of mine's house so I'm going to have him put a sign in his yard that says..." https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...arleySucks.gif"...

Cool piece to say the least. And with over 640HP under the retro cowl hood, performs as good as it looks. Something like 40-140MPH in under 5 seconds. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif Will look right at home next to Steves '68 DH Chevelle.

And the logos on the trailer are kind of cool as well. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Did the Aloha/Imagine and GMMG boys ever get any *play time* set up @ Gateway? I don't know how hard they would have pushed the cars, but it would have been a cool photo-op at the very least!

Re: My first day of Power Tour

Where's the FRONT 3/4 shot of the HRSS454?? I've seen four rear 3/4 shots all from the same side and two front shots showing the details of the hood lip and the engine. Isn't there one clean front 3/4 shot with the hood down, from about 15' away and in the daylight?

Thanks

Ahh, JoeG beat me to the post. Nice '64 Acadian in the pics.

Brought the Deuce to Arlington in the rain......nothing that 15-20 hours of detailing won't fix! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Belair wasn't kidding about that 02 Harrell car. We both happened to be standing behind it when they reved it as loud as they could! My ears were ringing to! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Re: My first day of Power Tour

I noticed some of the deragtory coments on the board the link took me to. I would like to say this in their defence. I had the pleasure to chat with Jimi Day at Tulsa. He is the Director of sales and marketing. He told me that the car is not finished. The headlights were missing the suround panels that belong around them. Said they just couldn't get them finished in time. He said that they really make a difference when they were in place. I am anxious to see what it looks like with them on the car.

The lower rear fenders behind the wheel openings are also missing a ground effects panel like what is under the doors that he said would make it look better when finally installed.

They did one hell of a job considering it just takes time to do things right and this car looks RIGHT to me.

I hate to see harsh words about the car till the last parts are finished. There were so many people around it that I could not get a pic of it and later when I came back from dinner I didn't have my camera with me.

I for one am courious to see what it looks like with the lights finished and the hood closed. The drawing sure looks neat.

About the comments about the chevelle , there will always be armchair quarter backs who know all the answers and who can do it better,--but you have to have someone with a vision/idea who is willing to put their ideas on the line first so those armchair quarter backs can tell him what is wrong---Is this the final design and is GM going to bring this or something back to compete with the NEW Mustang---- https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

I was able to look at this HRSS454 at Arlington yesterday, and I was drooling over it the whole time.
Everything about it exceeded my expectations.
I give a Big https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif to the Aloha Team,as well as Steve S. & HotRod for making this Vision become a reality. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: My first day of Power Tour

Here's my synopsis of some of the comments...

I'm guessing most, if not all, of the negative comments are coming from people who have simply seen a few pictures on the net. Like most cars, you can't appreciate them until you actually SEE them. Like the subtleness of the Mule...then you see all the turbo plumbing! Sometimes you simply can't understand until you've seen them in person.

I had a red/black LS-6 coupe not too long ago, and it was wierd how certain angles and details reminded me of my '70...it was hard for me to grasp that an '04 could capture the nuances of the '70 until I saw the car in person, so I understand some of the comments. It really is a cool piece, even thought it lacks some finishing touches. But, if you don't believe me, just ask the mobs of people that were on this car like white on rice the entire duration of the PT...

Just one of the ultra-cool cars from the PT I'd gladly park in my garage. Like the Mule...or the Twister...or the Cammer Ford Clill pointed out...or Barry Grant's Chevy II...SHWING! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

OK...yesterday was the last day of Power Tour and we stopped off at Imagine (formerly Aloha) and checked out Steves 57. I know you were bummed that it was not finished but I gotta tell you that 8 turbo contraption is gonna be a very cool car when it is done. I walk into the room and it is just sitting there running smooth as can be. Lots of very cool stuff done to the car....And it drives like a dream... https://www.yenko.net/attachments/860...2-04%20013.jpg
