Thanks for posting photos, Charley. The Barrett-Jackson site doesn't do most of the cars justice.

Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
Thanks Charlie! The fathom green copo, is that the one from W. W. Muscle Cars do you think. Is the brown one from Florida that has been advertised for a while on e-bay? Is there something wrong with that brown one that they can't sell it? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Sam

Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
Charley, First of all Thanks for the Pictures--I watched it last night on Speed Vision. I didn't get to go this year as we are too busy with roofing and Yes it is Freezing Cold out!! Looking forward to seeing the Better Cars go thru tonight and Saturday.. Thanks, Mark https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
Yes that is Garys old car but didn' t want to try and figure out how to spell his name last night. Yes the RS is the one that used to be Scott B's and was in Florida. Maybe it has just been shopped too much or maybe it is just priced too high.

The Big Dog cars go across tonight and Sat. night? I hope they bring more money than what went over Thurs. night!

Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
The buyers didn't have enough to drink on Thursday night so the prices were down. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif After a few more https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif then the bidding will be hot and heavy!

The hemi charger fender tag [/ QUOTE ] Looks like a restamped tag. Too perfect, no dents. Should be crisp heavy imprints. In addition, frequently there are inspection stamps and inspector numbers punched into the tag as in this example of an original one: |

Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
68 L89 Camaro just went for $69K. I noticed the master cylinder wasn't correct and it had 69 tailpipes so I don't know how correct the car really was.

Very Cool Charlie https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif. Glad to see you're signed on as our official B-J news correspondant. (that's Barrett-Jackson before the flames start....) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif Speaking of flames, If I were the owner of those cars in the transport fire, I'd be sitting in my closed garage with whatever car I had left...engine on. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
WOW!! What a great day at Barrett-Jackson! I am sure that some of you saw the 69 Z28 Cross Ram JL8 car sell for $112,000!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif That has got to make you happy Jeff H! What an intense bidding war on that car! So far no real record breaker for COPO's or the L89 68 Camaro.

Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
We need to thank Charley for all the coverage - we should buy him one of those YELLOW jackets!!! Amazing price for that Z, but that's great, it keeps the value of these cars going up.
|
Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
The 68 L89 and the Crossram Z were from the same seller. I and many others would never buy a car from him. Last year at Monterey he had a Astro Blue LS6 convert with Protecto plate. Same car he got at BJ as a Gobi Beige car with no paperwork the year before.. He is absolutely the best at dolling up Auction cars. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif

And then on to a lighter note... So I'm minding my own business and just happy to watch the madness. The variety is amazing. So I'm walking through the Motorcycle area yesterday and I see 4 Yale Motorcycles ranging from about 1910-1914 and all selling at no reserve. Now these are really cool bikes and I'm sure of that except I had never heard of them till yesterday. So I'm thinking if they go cheap on Friday I might just bid on one. This morning after breakfast I get a call from a Friend telling me the Yales are going off first thing this Morning. I'm still back brushing my teeth and it's about 9.50 and the auction starts at 10.00. Rental car madness since I'm about 5 miles away. I get parked and run all the way to the auction only to see that they are selling gas pumps etc. About a half hour later the Yales come up. The one I want is the last one. Of coarse the last one has to be the one that another guy really wants also.....I sure showed him..

Re: Barrett-Jackson 2004
No other worthwhile pics today. Weather was nice but light rain tonight. Everyone will think their cars are worth more after watching this madness. I watched a nothing Dodge Charger sell tonight for over 70K. If it shines it sells. A couple People I know that have come for the first time will be back next year. It really is a fun time.
