I called, e-mailed, and even popped a couple notes in bottles and floated em out but still no answers [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]...I think the owner was misinformed by somebody as to what it is and he still doesent know what it is [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]...all I know, A/C, 08 Build,=stay away..if I had proof of a 68, 1 of 4 copo, I couldnt scan and post the pictures fast enough, if it is real he is leaving at least a 100k on the table, nobody is that stupid, are they?

If the buyer is smart they'll ask to see the documentation on the car, which the seller claimed to have in the auction description. If the seller doesn't come through the buyer will have justification for not going through with the purchase.

GEORGE is a personal friend he had someone run the vin #'s and just from that he came back saying the car came from dana.

If someone ran the VIN through NICB then yes, it could be confirmed that the car was delivered to Dana Chevrolet. As for the window sticker showing the 427 option, there's no way a factory window sticker would show the 427 option since there was no RPO for it. Therefore I would assume it is probably a Dana created window sticker. If you can post a picture of the window sticker, the trim tag and protect-o-plate, then people will be able to help verify if it is real GM documentation or not.

No disrespect intended, but through research I preformed on your car of a method of which I can not disclose without opening a can of worms your car was not a dealer conversion that was ever recorded. Does that mean it is not possible, no, anything is possible but in this case I believe it to be highly unlikely. If you have reason to believe it is by all means keep digging, never say never. If you would like to respond please do so in a respectful manner as I am on probation on this site and I really dont want Charley to get out his can of whup ass on me.

Matt, your method , I won't tell. That is not my point, there seems to be a large cloud of suspicion over this car(for good reasons discussed), that should be enough to doubt it. POP/ Paperwork/ History - easy stuff to post (if owner has them) to clear the air. Why highlite the documentation in the auction and not provide to potential buyers. For me there is only one reason not to. People just don't realize the help, wealth of knowledge, financial resources, restorers, etc. to ASSIST them here at this site. What better site to sell or get the word out on a SUPERCAR for sale.

Why only offer to show the documentation to the high bidder? If the documentation shows its real, it will most certainly drive up the bids significantly. The only reason not to show the docs is because its not what its being represented as.... just like the 68 RS Camaro in eBay right now with a 69 trim tag. To quote specifics like this it would appear that the owner has a list of 68 427 COPO camaro's built in 1968 and can place his car on this list. So.....who's got the list?
