I tried to catch 'em for ya Bobby but that Damn Charley is fast! Either that or I had too many sangwiches. Oh well, I ain't exactly built for speed. I saw him earlier and he said he was going back to the room for his golf shoes. I wonder what he wanted those for?

Hey Slowpoke..Speaking of Redlines. A Friend has a Canadian Copo with redlines on the paperwork. Does your car also have something that pointed to redline tires ? We can all meet later in Belairs car and have a Beer like the other night.

Hey Chuck, I tried the club soda like it said on the Martha Stewart website, but, it just won't get the Ricobene's red sauce out of the seat fabric. Advise what to do next. SSL78

Just wanted to say that I had a blast at VF. Hope everyone made it home OK. Always fun to spend time with fellow sYc members and their cars. And WOW, what a great gorup of supercars. And to top it off, got to meet for the first time "Mr. Ed" and Lynn Yenko, plus spend time with Tom Stephani and Helen and Nancy Gibb.

I was hoping he wouldnt notice the red sauce stains, but now that you said something he will probably go look. Sorry Bob, but I think I have a real nice blue back seat out of a Chevelle that would probably fit. There are advantages to driving cars to the show. I was home by 7 putting a band aid on the index finger, I cut it on one of those repop air cleaners. It really was a great show with a lot of great people.

Great show, I had a blast and took my wife's advise/warning and didn't come home with a new car. Pat sent me a super shot of Helen and Nancy Gibb with me in the middle. There was a beautiful yellow ZL1 in the background.

Did the sign for the green 3500 mile Yenko say it was unrestored ?? Beautiful car, but, I doubt it made that claim.

I thought that green car used to be 'The Gambler'? No?

sixtiesmuscle 11-26-2003 01:38 PM

Re: vettefest

Think so. I'm just not sure where the "unrestored" statement came from, the owner, or, the photographer. I'm not taking anything away from the car, it's very well done.

Those are nice pictures Chuck S.
I wish I could have met you Friday.
We were parked in the low ceiling area,South of the Escalators, and not in the main stream of things.
I had heard you were there, and tried to find you.
I wanted you to see my Chevelle, and Talk 70 L-78 Camaros with you.
Never enough time is there...
Rick

Rick, (and all) Next time I better just wear my DUMB name tag, and be more aggressive, about introducing myself. A couple of my 2nd Gen Camaro friends showed up with there cars, and I killed a lot of time discussing things with them. Dont know what happened with that last picture, but I'll attempt to post some more....Please excuse any inaccurate info on the pics......you'll just have to let the pictures speak for themselves...Chuck Sharin

I can't remember if the sign said 'unrestored' or not, but the paint job looked too nice to be factory.

Rick I believe that was an LS-5 claimed to be unrestored. I think Ed took a better look at it than I did .

Thanks for the Pics. Chuck,
Some of us had to watch the show from our pc's.But the only problem. You did not seem to take a picture of the TOP GUN WINNER. Would have liked to see a shot of it.Can't miss it Lemans Blue/white int. 69 COPO Camaro. Thanks again,"MOF"

Re: vettefest

The VF show was a great one for sure. Gary H, Mike G, and Tom C, did their best to accomidate all and the special guests were indeed special. My favorite car in the display was that 66 race-prepped Stinger. What an evil car. I really had a good time visiting with board members and enthusiasts alike. Joe and Franks cars were well recieved and I was honored to work on both of those cars. Both of those guys are serious about their cars. Thanks for all the nice comments on the cars. What a special collection it was and in late November as well. Thanks to Chad, Rick, Phil Borris and others for their support as well...BKH

Mayor Potter, here is the TOP GUN
From what I heard it was a close call between the two blue cars but the Harrell Camaro's tires where not as clean as the Copo's. Great job Caleb!!

Great pics Chuck. How bout this one of one of the board members 66 Vette!!! I want to say the top of the owners head is just above the top of the opened hood, or is it Wilson from Tool Time fame

BKH has told us what his favorite car on display at VF was. Lets hear yours.

Mine would be the Blue/Yellow Penske race Corvette, with Kevin's a close second. I have a passion for race "Vettes, especially '63-67.

In my limited time Friday night I have to pick that darn Black COPO Camaro...something about those redlines on black but there were 2 really neat early straight axle Vettes that were tough..looked like Sebring cars ...didn't get to look too long...I was with hungry people..

Re: vettefest

sYc/Jeff, Allow me to (sadly) correct you, the cars in that pic WERE race cars now they are "objects of art" as it`s doubtful NONE of them will ever see competition again.

Re: vettefest

My fav had to be Chad/Rick N 70 Dick Harrell Camaro....can't beat the originals!

Close seconds had to be John Hornbacks beautifully restored Fencl Tufo Forest Green/white stripe Deuce or Gene Englers awesome color combo Cranberry Red/white stripe Fencl Tufo Deuce. Both Day 2 cars! BTW for the Deuce lovers out there John Hornback took his Deuce to Byron and ran a 13.09! Good for him! (Marlin you have some catching up to do! )
