Didn't Reggie Jackson lose all those ultra-rare muscle cars to a fire while they were safely tucked away in storage? As I see it they're cars, no matter how rare. Leave em setting around in the garage and they're just hugely expensive and heavy paper weights.

I do not know off hand what issue of Muscle Car Review it was, but someone had the exact same car (drag car with huge slicks) in the magazine. Amazing car, sorry!

Re: My most recent acquistion!

When i had my car stored for the winter, i did'nt realize that there was some junk stored in the attic above it and the guy that owned the garage dropped a lawnmower ontop of the car. All i got was a sorry when i picked it up in the spring. One nice summer day as we were trailering our cars to race for the weekend, one of the wheel bearings in the trailer siezed, he hit the ditch to save the car, everybody was ok, it could have been alot worse but crap happens. Sure looked funny driving the car down the highway to get to the meet. The cops pulled us over and just had to laugh, they escorted us the rest of the way. We were only about a 1/2hr away https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

-----While bad things can happen on the strip for sure, equally as bad things can happen to these cars every day of thier existence. On the way back from Scottsdale "Ol Red" got loose in the trailer and due only to pure, unadulterated luck very little damage happened.I used it as an excuse to go over a few things and freshen up a little.Another ten miles would have been disastrous.
-----Ask Bill P about trailering problems! Most of the time it seems as though its not the racing that gets us.
-----Yesterday I went to my storage building and noticed a rather large section of steel corrugated roof flapping in the wind.Thankfully it was at the opposite end of a rather large building, and not a problem to my cars but it could have been over mine just as easily. You just never know!..........Bill S

Becouse as mentioned, you never know what might happen to your car even if your careful. It could be destroyed at anytime no matter what you do, so drive it and enjoy. Here's a picture of my ride when i first got it.

Kevin,

About the only positive thing I can think to tell you is if in fact the seller is telling the truth about the steering, thank god you weren't behind the wheel when this happened. This is truly unfortunate for everyone involved, but we all know you'll rebuild it back to it's old glory and make it better than it ever was.

As Red Green would say, "Keep your stick on the ice, we're all pulling for ya".
