Wes and I communicated today and there are no outstanding issues. He is satisfied with the information both the CRG and this site has provided.

I think we both made assumptions and once we communicated directly all was resolved. He is going to continue solving the history of the car and as always we collectively are here to assist our members and fellow enthusiasts.

This site is going strong even as we hit our 25th anniversary and appreciate everyones contributions....

I was disappointed to find these chatter marks on the axle tube. I can see parts of the factory stampings but that's it.

Why would someone do that? Hopefully the hidden vin isn't in the same condition.

The only thing I can add to this thread - i once saw a 68 Camaro that had lost or had stolen its VIN plate, and the DMV put a new VIN on the car on the driver door pillar as you have shown, and of course the rivot holes had to be spaced further apart to accommodate the VIN.

Just an observation

There is one listed in a 1968 Yenko ad but I have not seen much on AT 427 1968 Yenko 427 Camaros.

Some 1967 Yenko 427 Camaros 410hp AT have been found.

Yes, there were some automatic 1968 Yenko Camaros built. A bronze one with a/c does exist and is documented back to the original owner.

The Brother's Collection has a '67 Automatic that was believed to be a NicKey 427 Conversion and when the owner contacted us we discovered it was a 1967 Yenko. Warren had a file on the car.

1968 Yenko 427 Super Camaro SS RS YS-8037 is Corvette Bronze with AC but it is a 4 speed .
That is said to be the only 1968 Yenko Camaro with AC

I have an old Yenko ad for a 1968 Yenko 427 Super Camaro with TH400 but have not heard of any found

Here's another potential A/C car being sold in Kansas City in 1968.

That could be another 68 Yenko 427 TH400

That April 68 newspaper ad listed the car as 410hp

The Sep 68 Yenko ad listed the gold car as 425hp

the 1967 Yenko 427 TH400 cars were listed as 410hp

I was thinking that this ad could be a 1967 Yenko 427 410hp TH400 Camaro because the ad says it was bought in Nov.

If the ad was posted in April of 68 and the car was bought in Nov of 1967, it could be a 1967 Yenko 427 410hp TH400 Camaro. The 1967 Yenko 427 Camaro YS-760 was sold in March of 1968 so Yenko could have sold another 1967 Yenko 427 Camaro in Nov 1967.

Verification of VIN match.

A bit more on the car. An interesting comparison is that the bottom two holes (from 1st page of thread) match the same distance on YS 8023.

Just an FYI but be sure to check the hidden VINs. The trim tag on the car has been reattached, dash top panel replaced so be sure to verify hidden VINs match.

Hope you can make some progress at least getting pics of the paperwork or the tag.
