John, do you know anything about the picture of the 69 Pace Car? Door says Col. Bill Buck's Command Chevrolet. I looked that up and it looks to have been located in Venice FL. I can't make out the quarter panel but seems to say something about the event.
I am the admin for the 1969 Indy Pace Car Registry and would like to know more about the history of the race, the track and of course the Z11.
Anyone else know?
Thanks in advance, Rich

Saw this post, so I thought I’d ad my .02. Partial racing Camaro….

I still have the front to the former Levi-Garrett Reher-Morrison Camaro..(later Kenny Karesky) now collecting dust.

On page 4 of this thread I posted pics of my Z28 when it first started racing, with only the main sponsors' decals on it. The owner, the dealership, and the speed equipment dealer.

Here are some when the decals were plentiful,....but still with the same Grumpy lump style hood bump in these.

Thanks.

Between 1972 and 1977 from what I know, it ran around 11.4 to 11.8 at 118 to 120mph.

Between 1977 and 1981 the fastest I know of was 10.55...but it might have gone quicker.

Pretty fast none the less for back then,..... running E/MP and quite a few other classes.

I don't know all the engine combos. I do believe it blew the original 12 bolt, had another 12 bolt in it, then ended up with the full floating DANA 60 that's in it today.

I don't think that TR setup would clear a stinger hood. Both stinger hood photos look like they could be the same.

I am of the opinion Motion (and it's customers) bounced all over the M/P category. Changing combinations would be right in character. Wish I could see more pics of the car. Lovely to say the least!
