Wow...those results are awesome. Well worth the added costs for a low mile car such as this.
Very impressed. |
Stunning results Charlie:biggthumpup:

That looks fantastic.
The trick is having someone do it that (1) is familiar with the model of cars they are working on, and where factory undercoating was (such as in the wheelhouses, and trans tunnel on some cars), and how that material differs from aftermarket undercoating, and (2) has done enough cars already to know how adjust pressures and attack angles to take off the aftermarket undercoating without removing the factory stuff beneath it (or paint beneath it, or stickers/tags, etc.). From looking at Level One's work on a survivor car at MCACN and speaking with Gary there, and looking at these pics, it is clear that Gary's folks have the process down far better than a lot of the others I have seen. I have seen pics of other cars done by someone (whether the owner, or a generic industrial blasting company) who just nuked away and blew off most of the factory undercoating too, and other factory things that were under the Ziebart. This is much better! |

Off the blue car. Just the start.

Interior was $1,000, well worth it in my mind - looks like new.

Luv is done. Everything was black before.
|
Wow, that looks amazing!
|
Yes, that looks great.
|
Really amazing! Thanks for sharing Charlie

Charlie,
So what protective coating (if anything) do you put on it after is is done so it doesn't flash rust? Looks awesome. Bill |

I suggest.

I'm not sure what he uses.

Question on the Boeshield T-9 - Can you put that in a spray bottle and mist it on?? OR is it something you put on a rag and wipe it on?

I use fluid film although it may not give the appearance you want and it will collect grime, which can easily be sprayed off then reapplied .

Amazing results!
I’d love to have this done to my cars and I’m not concerned about price, but I would like to find someone closer to my home in the SF Bay Area. Charlie, does this inboard sidewall pose a concern? |
That looks fantastic. Likely to become standard procedure for survivor cars.
|
OK..Here come a bunch of before and after pictures of the Camaro.

Great bunch of pics, thanks for posting Charley. A lot of interesting details show up like where the disc brake shield sticker was, pattern of grey primer vs black primer vs body color on the underside, and the paint inspection marks on the front suspension.
|
Wow!!! What ever you spent on the process, shipping, etc........you'll get that back at least double in the value of the car. What a car!!
Thanks for sharing the process and the details after the fact! Tim |
----Fantastic outcome! I was moderatly surprised at the lack of paint in certain areas of the subframe. I wonder if future restorations will incorporate any of what we see here?.....Bill S

WoW!,and it took the rubberized sure-grip coating right off that FRAM oil filter.
|
I don't think they worried about that Fram filter too much.
|
The results look terrific on both vehicles. My maroon '67 Z is in need of having this done so I appreciate all the pics. Were the exhaust manifolds left open like that at the bottom or were they capped off during the process?
|
This looks terrific! I would really like to find someone closer and in Canada that I could take the L-78 Chevelle to. I'll be watching to see what Bob (chevelleheart) thinks of the folks in Calgary who do this, if he decides to go ahead.

Incredible results! Would love to have this done on my '67.
|
Would have been neat to scale the car before and after. That's a lot of gunk gone.
|
Love it.
Notice the black rear brake drums, further proving what I have had to argue with some folks about for years, that the entire axle was painted black at the axle plant AFTER it was assembled there. I have a survivor 67 Camaro that shows the same details, as well as multiple survivor 65-67 Chevelles And the black starter nose - blacked with a cap or mask over only the very end where the drive gear is, bare part not visible after mounted! |

Interior came out nice. He did ice blast on the comfort and steam on most everything else.
|
Price of poker just went up on that blue Camaro! What a car!
|
That's amazing.
