You guys can’t get that! It’s not allowed!!

We’re thinking of you guys, load up on vitamin A, C, and D. It’s helped some of our guys that have gotten it, supposedly.

Get well soon Team Bruce!!

Not feeling much better, but then again not feeling much worse!

It's amazing how fast they symptoms come on....and how strong they are...then fade away just as quickly, to be replaced with something else....

The wife and I have to quarantine for another ten days...Holly, since she's immune suppressed, has to quarantine for another 20 days. At least since we're all sick we don't have to quarantine from each other. Mayo said that all of us getting sick at the same time is the best case scenario...so we don't keep passing it back and forth.

Since Holly is both a heart transplant and a kidney transplant, Mayo wants us to keep an eye on:
1) Low blood pressures.
2) O2 levels-cannot go lower than 92
3) Obvious signs of issues

Mayo is calling daily to see how we are doing...and we're having daily 'tele-health' calls as well. The heart transplant docs from both Mayo and Loma Linda have said that the transplants that have come down with Covid have done very well.

Thanks for the continued emails/calls/messages. You are all awesome...

Glad to hear you guys are ok. Seems like this second wave of the virus is worse. Several people at my work either currently have it or have had it. All of them said they had worse hangovers. Was like a bad head cold. However it effects everyone different.

Stay positive...

Rich

Crush 12-01-2020 12:53 PM

Me and 6 members had it. Some zero symptoms, worse was more flu like. Interesting, one person had 3 tests for work reasons, 2 negative, 1 positive, days apart
Overall everyone back to normal as it seems like many in this group are.

Tracker1 12-01-2020 01:08 PM

Take care and I hope the symptoms are gone quickly

bobm67 12-01-2020 07:47 PM

Bruce, that's good news everyone is doing well. Thank you for letting us know that people with transplants have good results.

Get well soon Bruce and family.

Virus seems to be around our rural Ohio area now. Poeple I know actually getting it. Schools open seem to have helped it spread. Local one took 2 weeks off and back to 2 days a week. They basically said they were quarantining everyone by not being at school but no one stayed home over the holidays. It does seem they are getting a handle on treating younger people.

Stefano 12-02-2020 03:42 PM

It is all over here in the Boone County, Rockford area. Lots of people we know got it and some have gone to the hospital with serous symptoms. Thankful that no one close has passed.

Let us know how you guys are doing?

x77-69z28 12-02-2020 04:53 PM

Checking this thread every day. Bruce, I hope you guys are on the road to a full recovery!

Hi all,

Still no positive/real negative news to report. We all are very tired, very dizzy-have no sense of taste or smell. We feel like we have temperatures, but when we check-it doesn't read high...weird!

It's very easy for me to sleep, but Lynn and Holly are having a more rough go-still... with the body aches/bone aches, etc.

Thanks everyone for continuing to reach out. Hopefully the symptoms start to subside...since it's been a week now. :(

Too Many Projects 12-03-2020 02:11 AM

Thanks for the update. Especially concerned for Holly with the transplant. Good to hear she is holding her own too.

Blythe Covid-19 update 12/7/2020-

We are all starting to turn the corner I think. My sense of smell and taste is slowing coming back. Body aches are mostly gone for me-still very tired.

Holly and Lynn have more consistent congestion than I do-though mine comes on quickly. Still very tired, though.

Had a video tele-medicine deal with Mayo a few minutes ago. They will delay all of Holly's heart/kidney studies until late January early February-as these are important-but not medically necessary at this juncture-and Mayo is filling up with Covid patients.

We asked if Holly will get the Covid immunization and Mayo still isn't 100 percent positive that doing that is the right thing to do at this point-so they are holding off on answering that for now. They say now that we've had Covid-we should have an immunity for at least 3 months (based on the data they have now).

The doc thinks that we could still feel lousy for at least another week...

Finally-Mayo is sending a phlebotomist to our house to draw Holly's blood for the blood draws to check her immunosuppression levels - I wonder if they know the person has to get here really early...LOL?

Too Many Projects 12-07-2020 10:19 PM

Seems to be hangin' on longer for you three than people I know who have gotten it. STILL, if you are getting better, that's the silver lining and, hopefully, all y'all will be back up and running in a couple weeks.

Fingers crossed that Holly's blood work comes out good.

We're very lucky that we are only 90 miles from Mayo, Rochester, but trying to get in for anything other than an emergency right now is near impossible.

BJCHEV396 12-07-2020 10:27 PM

Hang in there Bruce and family.Good wishes and thoughts sent your way.

earntaz 12-07-2020 11:11 PM

Praying that our Lord has his hand on you and family!!

You guys keep on fighting Bruce! You're are my motivation now. I just found out that I'm positive with covid-19 today and may be asymptomatic. I have no symptoms at this point and feel perfectly fine. My sinuses are a little irritated due to the deep q-tip they used to test me. I'm sure I got it from my boss who tested + yesterday (Sunday) morning. I'll see how it goes.

BJCHEV396 12-08-2020 06:25 AM

Take care Mark.Good luck.

TimG 12-08-2020 12:14 PM

Take care, Bruce. We are thinking of all of you.

Mark-We're hoping you stay asymptomatic. Let me know if you have any questions. We are slowing turning the corner.

I found out today that our long time HR manager was sick the Monday before i got sick, so my boss and I got it from him-and I passed it on to Lynn and Holly most likely.

The HR manager passed away this morning... :(

Billohio 12-09-2020 01:00 AM

Good to hear you are turning the corner Bruce and ladies.

Sorry to hear about your HR manager. It really hits some people hard. Friend of mine is 76 with asthma. He thought he had a cold and next thing we knew he was in hospital, on ventilator, sedated. Local hospital talked about his kidneys failing and they took him to Ohio State and he is slowly getting better and sounds like kidneys will be ok. Strange illness

Xplantdad 12-09-2020 01:13 AM

Thanks Bill....still kinda surreal.

Zedder 12-09-2020 01:41 AM

Hope you all keep getting better Bruce!

How y’all doing Bruce? Just checking in.

Bruce,

Hoping for a good outcome for all of you, of course. Thanks for the updates and the education too. It has exploded again here in Oregon.

Hi Dave,

getting much better. Spent yesterday afternoon disinfecting everything, dusting, wiping down and vacuuming. Didn't really feel like doing much of anything the past few weeks. Holly's quarantine ends this Tuesday :)

I don't need to get Covid tested again before going back to work. Mayo said I could test positive for up to 3 months after I am no longer capable of sharing it with anyone.

Thank you for asking-

Xplantdad 12-13-2020 07:14 PM
