Dave - Way to set the example with the minimum carbon footprint. Funny, I would have taken you for a petrol-head! ;>) |
I know that it takes a lot of effort to bring this together Dave - thanks for all you do & can't wait to see the finished product!!
|
Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments and thoughts! I think it's a fun project. Hopefully, much like my other projects and restorations, it doesn't turn out to be an embarrassment!:D
Cheers Dave |
Put me down for 7 calendars !!!!

As an FYI, I did not approve any photos of any of the listed car owners to be with their cars scantly clad. Although there may have been discussions of Kelly's attire for any approved shots, the thought of Charley in a speedo was..well, you "get" the picture!

Dave, I'm in for at least two and Thanks for doing this! :worship:

No problem on the number of calendars anyone wants as I think I'l be printing up at least 500 or so to keep the costs down. I've worked up a spreadsheet and flew Bob and Steve in on my flight benefits to review things. Steve's only flight was cancelled, and Bob spent all day in the airport flying standby on a buddy pass which really is just the agent telling you to stand over there and wave to the plane, "Bye" cause you ain't getting on it!:thumbsdown:
We tried a conference call and Steve was the only one that could figure it out. I keep hanging up on everyone and Bob never answered. We then reverted to smoke signals and from what I understood by the puffs, they like the way the project is going, and Custer attacking when last star falls in West while great yellow ball rise in other direction. :dunno: There may be an opportunity for a scantily clad, well, kind of, poster featuring a member's car on a good old fashioned GM horsepower ad I made a while ago. :3gears: Details to follow.... I appreciate everyone being excited about it! I think it's a fun project and it's helping out this great site along with possibly buying Bob a burger on Thursday during move in day!:cool2: If I can have them ready by then I'll bring some to SCR23 but we'll see how the schedule goes. Cheers:beers: Dave |
Dave you know that I'm going to need a few. If you have them at SCR that will be great. I'll bring a little extra money with me.
|
Better add 2 calendars to Doug Perry's order and then I'll just get them from him.
(just kidding Doug!) |

Calendar progress update: progress is progressing at a progressive rate. :hmmm: At this time, I'm only waiting on a few photos from a couple cars, but the artist is working his magic on what I have given him so far.
I think my layout design will need a few additional photos, but I need to confirm this with confirmation from the confirmers themselves before I commit to obtaining additional photos. More to come. How about some thoughts for the cover of the calendar? I have a few but would like to hear from yous guys too! Thoughts? :hmmm::biggthumpup: Cheers:beers: Dave |
Thanks again for putting this together Dave.
|
What are your thoughts? I'll see if my thoughts will line up with them.
|
One thought I had was a close up of a sixpack of Holley carbs with the MCACN logo in the upper left, Yenko.net logo lower right, background fades to black by the edges. Just one idea....
Cheers Dave |
Seems like a good idea to me. What else do you have?
|
I can’t be givin’ all my idears away! Maybe I’ll make it a surprise? The artist is working on a couple of the cars and he’s liking this project. Mike is the guy that does the ads for MCACN, so you know they’ll be looking good!
Cheers:beers: Dave |
Calendar Update:
All but two cars are accounted for in regards to the hi-res photos I need, and the support from you guys sending me requested photos has been awesome!!!:worship: The artwork is proceeding right along and I’m hoping you guys will love the final look. So far I’m extremely pleased with how it’s all coming together. I’m in talks with upper magnanimousment :dunno: about payment details, location of where the calendar will be available to sale, how to purchase, and other details that detail out the other details and it’s about finalized. Based on feedback, accounting statistics, and case studies, it looks like the target price will be $15/ea. The calendar should be ready for sale by the SCR I’d imagine, and of course I’ll post up once I get it done and ready. This week I should receive a few proof images to review. Right now a little good news is needed to lift spirits with all the doom and gloom lately. Not only from the obvious, but also from the loss of the printed magazines we were all hoping to get our car featured in before their demise. If it goes well, a 2022 calendar will be up next! Cheers:beers: Cap’n Super Dave |

A side project I am working on with this calendar is a newer style logo for the website too. What's everyone think of this design? :hmmm:
I wanted a better logo to display on the calendar along side of the MCACN logo. Also, what do you guys think about under the owner's information that will be displayed on each car, including the owner's username too?:hmmm: Cheers:beers: Dave |
Good idea Dave. The shield is truly American. You can’t go wrong with old faithful....Red White and Blue

Here's another idea which I think I like better....
Cheers Dave |
Calendar update: Looks like all but two cars are accounted for and all images are completed and will be fine tuned in the coming week or so. So, do I post a preview pic of what the calendar will look like, or let everyone wait and lose sleep over the anticipation?:confused2:
I’m thinking based on the latest events of making the cover of the calendar a theme of patriotism speckled with our beloved muscle machines. More to come.... Cheers Dave |
Wait. Who needs to sleep.

And don't forget sYc Friends, to save this 2021 Calendar, not only is it likely to be a treasure, but you can reuse it in 2027 and even again in 2038!
And if you can't get one of Dave's creations before they're sold out, you can always dust off your Britney Spears calendar from 1999; it'll work for 2021 too. Myself? I'm reusing my 1992 Toronto Blue Jays calendar for this year, 2020. Cheers all, Anthony |
Hmmmmm, that’s interesting stuff Anthony! So basically, you’re getting three calendars for the price of one!:hmmm: I mean....WHAT A DEAL!!!!!
Cheers:beers: Dave |

Calendar Update! The final Month images are in and I’m just working on the cover now along with a few touch-ups. I have one car lined up for the cover photo, but I need another that I’m hoping a member can help out with that rather than having to scrounge one off the ‘net.
I need a rear shot of a 63 Spilt window ‘Vette. The shot doesn’t need to be the whole car, rather, just the back end from the middle of the roof down. A Daytona Blue one would be best, but any color would work. The other car on the cover is accounted for, so any Yenkonians out there have one or know of one I can get the pic I need? Bruce? Calling BRUCE with all your Brucey connections!!!!!!:hmmm::biggthumpup::smile: Just about ready to wrap this up and it should be ready in June for purchase!!!!!:headbang: More to come... Cheers:beers: Dave |

There's a bunch of them here...I have a few from a year or two ago in SoCal, but they are silver and fuel injected? I am sure you can find better pics  https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthre...=158288&page=7 |

I found the only logical cover photo for the calendar!!!!!
SWC my ass!!! I vote for Dave and Kelly Ryan W31 |
Ok, now that’s funny! Thanks Ryan!:3gears:
Cheers:beers: Dave |
Calendar Update:
Just a tweak of the cover page and the calendar project is DONE!!:headbang: I’m going to talk with the printer this week to discuss sending them over the images and such. A few more smaller details to figure out, but all the member’s images are completed and I’m hoping you all like the outcome. This was no small project. It was endless hours of me telling everyone else what to do! But seriously, I can’t thank all of you enough for the support and the photos. The man behind the art work of combining your images with my thoughts of a setting is Mike D’Alessio. And you all know him since he’s the guy behind the ads and such for MCACN!!!! So you KNOW it’s going to look great!!!:worship: It’s been a really fun project and when available for sale I’ll post up again to let you know how to order and how to pay. :scholar: It’ll be shortly! Please post feedback here when the time comes on images you like, don’t like, and any critiques you may have. More to come... Cheers Dave |
Dave,
Still need a Daytona Blue SWC? I know of one. Tim |

Hi Tim,
No, I’m all set and as a preview, here’s the cover! I chose a nice random online shot for the split window, but the Hemi Shaker scoop is from nine other than Doug Perry’s father’s Hemi Cuda! I’m working on getting these printed with a proof due here next week. Final price on the calendar will be $15/ea or 2 for $25. Move to come about ordering and such. Cheers:beers: Dave |
Nice!
